Just reaching out, and hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.
I have recently acquired a RH93. No particular reason, apart from the fact of how they were made, and function.
It's in pretty good order, and when i bought it, i knew there was an issue with the safety switch, as in it wasn't engaging.
I have now taken the gun apart, and it turns out the safety is snapped and in two pieces.
I'm hopeful that someone may have an idea as to whether there is an old stock of spares somewhere.

A pic may help.

I doubt it. I was thinking about fabrication from gauge plate, that’s tough enough. Can you give some approximate dimensions?

Lining up the right hand side fracture, by eye, it looks like there might be a third fragment that has gone missing.

If it doesn't interfere with operations, I wouldn't bother going to the trouble.
Safety catches don't make a gun safe.

Approx 30mm at longest points. The hole is 5mm diameter. Correct @nobby there is a bit missing.

Its not integral to operation of the rifle, it would just be nice if i could get it replaced or fixed.

Looks like the original part might be a forging or stamping. In any case there has been enough force at some time to break a piece out completely. First order estimate of 100 to 200 kg. It suggests that the RH93 safety catch does some real work, although I agree with Neil they don't on their own make a gun safe.

I don't think it's under any such strain when fitted. I think its been done when the retaining pin was refitted after work on the gun itself and it wasn't lined up correctly with the back block
The pin goes through the back of the action holding the back block and safety. The pin looks like its took a fair few whacks.

Mine doesn't have a safety catch, but it does need a new bolt and bolt knob. Also needs someone to take it apart and/or figure out why it doesn't cock...

Don't know if this is the reason yours doesn't cock, but the trigger unit itself, needs to be indexed correctly. There's a sort of cog system at the top of the trigger unit.

Do you think an aluminium one would do the job.
Easier to work by hand.
It looks like one could be made out of steel in a couple of hours.

It would depend on the alloy. Most plate is 6061 which is weak, and the pin at the end would be vulnerable. Higher grades are often only found as rod or bar

I was thinking Aluminium, apart from as @nobby said the pin at the end. When in position this is the part that is under most stress.

If I was making it in alli I would use 7075 and probably insert a steel pin. 7075 is great to work with.
