I just received a pard nv008 lrf from the brother in law after he purchased from eBay and can’t get it to power on?
So I started with a little research, my usual NV scope is a xsight so not very familiar with the pard.
When plugged in to charger I get a little led lit up so assumed it charges but after reading a little everybody seems to mention a RED led indicator…..here’s my first flag, the led on this is blue?
Then i started looking through images. The one I have says elite along the top but doesn’t seem to on others?
I read that a firmware issue can stop it turning on so I went to the pard website. I searched through the updates and found updates for nv008s lrf and for nv008p lrf….problem is this one only says nv008 lrf, no S or P??
So I then used the serial number search which to my surprise doesn’t return any information just a pop up saying to enter a correct number?
So with this information I’m starting to think maybe it’s just a cheap copy, could this be a fair assumption or am I missing something?

Any information or even advice with solving the power on problem would be hugely appreciated.

Thanks in advance
James

As I understand it 'Elite' will be present on a unit supplied to the trade by Elite Optics (e.g. if the unit was bought from an rfd, the rfd would likely have sourced their stock from Elite Optics and if that's the case the unit would have 'Elite' printed/etched somewhere on it - my NV007 does which was bought from my local rfd). The retail business of Elite Optics is Optics Warehouse. I can't answer the rest of your questions, but by the fact it has 'Elite' on it I would suspect it's genuine.

Are you pressing and holding the power button on for long enough for it to power up?

If problems persist, speak to OW. They are more than helpful.

Yeah iv pressed it for 5 seconds, 10 seconds etc just nothing? Only thing that works is a blue led when it’s on charge? Maybe need to just drop in a repair shop and hope for the best?

Thanks for the reply, that’s good to know that it is probably genuine…just wish it would work now haha so far the ATN wins 😂

Although I haven't had a 008 LRF I have the 008P and the 008S and from memory on the P and earlier models it wasn't recommended to charge the battery in situ, the USB port is more for data transfer - I've always removed my batteries and charged them in a separate charger
