Well it does happen, rare but worth noting.
I sold a stock just over a week ago, not expensive thankfully.
I sold it on here for £50 posted, sent it PF24 express, it got rerouted as it went to the wrong depot.
Lots of phone calls but tracking simply says returned to depot.
I have told the buyer if its still missing Monday I'll refund him.
It could have been an expensive item, I never bother with insurance.

Just thought I'd post this as I thought it was so unlikely with tracking via parcelforce.

Sorry to hear that, it does happen from time to time, quite how they can lose a good sized parcel raises questions.

Iv had that problem before m8 I sent 2 parcels , same post office and the bigger parcel went to a different depot and I think took 3 days longer to deliver, factor in the weather it you sent it up north

PF24 is automatically covered for £150, so whack a claim in

Has any one made a claim? I haven't. The Post master some years ago told me If I insure an Item for what I sell it at ( an Item I have made) and then put a claim in for that amount I would need to prove the cost of making said item which If I could would come out lower than the sale price then the claim would fail. Not sure about used Items.

i hate reading things like this...this time of year starts to get manic according to my postie but i suppose it happens often....i am sticking face to face from now on

hope it gets resolved ...and quickly

Yep, temp staff with sticky fingers imho, the only time I've had anything go awol was at xmas, sent a freind some jewellry for xmas about the time smart phones came out but made the mistake of packing it in a toffee tin about the same size as a smart phone, lost £100 on that. When I've bought guns around that time since I've asked the seller not to post till at least a week after xmas now.

Not Parcel farce but Post office, I sent a HW XLK moderator 48 hr tracked which disappeared from tracking for exactly a month then it got delivered so god knows where it was for a month :ROFLMAO: (y)

With the claim don't you have to prove value, it was an old stock?
You can provide proof of what you sold it for on here

If you have the original ad or other proof of the amount the item was sold for, then this should be submitted as evidence. I have claimed for things sold second hand that have gone missing and eventually got compensation for the value and, IIRC, about 50% of the original postage cost back

Last Saturday, someone posted something to me and the exact same happened. It arrived today, the wrong depot alert was received on Wednesday

Did anybody see the undercover programme a few years back, highlighting agency workers in PF wow what a shocker, makes you wonder what some managers are doing, Good luck 🤞 mitch21

If/when I sell guns on here they will not be going by any Post Office system as the last two were damaged. Collection only or meet half way from now on. If the package is a scope or other accessories I will be using DPD as I have never had an issue with them.

Don’t worry too much mate, I’ve sent stuff and had it turned back to me with no reasons given why. It will turn up at your house or the delivery address. It’s probably super busy this time of year so I’d put it down to that.

I've had this happen and it got delivered about a fortnight later. It could still get there.
My record with Parcel Farce is 3 months! Even Evri are only at 2 weeks late, but I guess they only delivered about 30% of what was supposed to be in the package so they are still the worst of the courier in my view. Hope the package arrives eventually.
