Hunting Out on the rats.

Just arrived home from the latest session, as the nights are drawing out, sessions getting shorter not many rats about.

how’s everyone else getting on numbers wise? Seen one rat tonight and shot it.

Always good to be out even if not many rats about, de-stress from the working week, eat cake and get plenty of fresh farm air in your lungs.

I was out until half ten and there wasn't much rat action which is good. I shoot on a farm and the rat and rabbit numbers are up and down. Sometimes loads, sometimes few. I think it depends if there's any foxes or kites around. I managed a handful of rats and a rabbit. The rabbits are normally just out of sub-12 range about 40-60m. They seem to know.
Around dusk I saw a badger sprinting across one of the paddocks, and at that moment it occurred to me that in my 55 years on this planet I'd never seen a real live one,only roadkill.

Still plenty of rats around here. although it does rely on which farm I'm on. I shot 43 on Tuesday night on one farm but didn't see any on another, albeit smaller, farm on Thursday night. We have more of a problem with fox at the moment and there's a fair few badgers around also. I've had badger walk with a few feet of me when I've been out foxing and it's quite comical to see a badger chasing a fox. Vicious creatures.

I was at my pig farm perm Wednesday and Thursday nights,barns are empty till Monday so I'll be back up there sunday night.I got 40+ Wednesday and me and a friend got about 130 on Thursday night,my other perms are low numbers at the moment but the pig farm is the gift that keeps on giving
