Hi, I've just been asked to look at the above. 1974 vintage in nice condition, but along the way the front sight insert has gone west. Does anyone know of a source or viable replacement. The tunnel diameter is big (almost 19mm) and I've nothing in my spares box to match up with it.

the odd ball Diana model 6 inserts have been a problem for a long time
there were two places that had one or two in 2024 but they are gone
they are not used on any other gun as far as i know and it was stupid of Diana to do that
there were 4 inserts in a set

It would be a real shame not to get replacements as the pistol is in nice condition,

Here are my three front sights from my Original Model 6 pistol, you might be able to print the A4 paper image and use them as a template to either 3D print some or cut from some thin tin?

I've just tried an alternative and purchased a perspex washer, 19mm od x 3mm id, so maybe that could be a cost effective option.

3 d printing these would be the way to
we have a seller here in the states that is making Anschutz, HW and Diana-FWB 3D printed inserts i could contact him
most people only use the lollipop inserts and they are low
let me mess around and see if i can come up with a solution give a day

I have a 6G which had the blob front post, used this to make as a template and cut one out of stiff flat black plastic (.5mm), because it’s in the tunnel it doesn’t need to be tougher than that and I can muck around with heights having got the outside shape right, just need a sharp craft scalpel. Will try to dig out some photos

i Anschutz 17.2 insert will fit, it will leave a little daylight at the top
now a post on the Diana is low at 4mm minus and the Anschutz would be 6mm +
the insert slot on the globe sight for the model 6 and 6G is very narrow so metal is almost a must d printing would be too thick without opening up the slot
this a picture of a Anschutz post sight in a model 6 front globe sight and yes i do have a spare and insert it took forever to collect

a couple things
the 5 and 5G use and clamp on the dovetail fixed sight and it has a post in the sight that is not interchangeable
the model 6 and 6G globe sight slip over the barrel and the barrel has a notch in it to position the sight square on the barrel and the screw that tightens it slides through the notch
now with the thought of using Anschutz inserts to get by with
i would just cut them off at the top of the ears and then you have a better sight picture and you will be able to cut down the post as needed
