They are spot on with 32mm scopes, you mate have issues with scope caps that fit over the objective.

are you gettiing decent scope rings anymore, I looked through my spares selection and 25mm and 30mm rings both suffered the same fate , BKl's ahve a problem in that they don't really do low mounts , especially in the 25mm mounts, in the 30mm the BKL 304 are low double strap mounts , never come across any yet , a few have been up for sale oh here quite recently.

The CP 3 -12 is a little bit different from lots of the other 32mm objective lens scopes in that they have a 30mm tube , Airmax ,vantage , fireball etc are in 25mm where the Sportsmatch 25mm low mounts bring the scope within mm's of the action, If you want scope caps , I found turning them 90° normally lets you still use them , the metal Hawke flip ups certainly do , I don't know if the optisan plastic one's will let you though

it was a case of couldn't get good eye alignment not that they didn't fit lol

I really like the little Optisan CPs, so much so I’ve got them on six out of seven rifles. On my PCPs I use Eaglevision dovetail to Picatinny adaptors with Vortex low hunter mounts. On my TX I use a Sportsmatch mount.

I use the BKL low double strap on my TX200 with the CP 10-32.

Sports match may not be fashionable anymore but I’ve never had an issue with the. In 15+ years and for HFT where you want the scope as close to the bore as possible they make far more sense than BKL.

Why? It makes long shots much more difficult. I prefer a higher mount to flatten the long shots and I have a better chance of judging the distance for the short ones.

Dovetail, it's for an HW97 used for HFT.

I wouldn't bother with dovetails mounts - no standardisation.
Get a good dovetail to picatinny adapter and a good set of mounts -so much more choice.

I use Eaglevisioncam adapters on mine.

If the scope is low to the bore it gives you a better sweet spot IMO.

With the scope low to the bore and say a 25-27yd zero you’ll be able to shoot pretty much everything between 20-35ish yards with cross hairs and from memory out to 45yds is only about 1 mil dot (ish)

Look at most the top shooters, you’ll be unlikely to see high mounts on any of their guns unless the trends changed in recent years where I’ve not been shooting HFT.

What brand of scope rings are best for a 32mm objective lens? The Optisan scope has a 30mm tube, so only medium and high mounts/rings are available, which don't hug the rifle. Which do you have?

I have BKL double straps on mine seem fine look good imo.
