Norwich shooting ground

Hi Darren, are you referring to Mid Norfolk Shooting? If so, its a great place. I'm a member.

The clay ground is varied with a great selection of targets throughout their undulating woodland. They also have 3/4 trap layouts and a simulated partridge bunker which is great fun (if you're skilled enough to hit 80mph overhead targets).

If you're going for an air rifle shoot, they have a uphill woodland area with 5 or 6 bays that goes to around 80 yards with a great selection of HFT style targets. This is just down the hill from the car park. They also have a 100m range with targets at 25, 50 and 100m in a field that's accessible by walking someway through the clay ground.

Some of the clay stands are air rifle friendly too - but you can only use these when clay shooting isn't on. I can't remember the specifics, but the guys that run it are very friendly and helpful and will put you on the right path. The shop is great too, so be aware if you're taking your wallet, if might be somewhat empty by the end of your trip!

Thanks so much for the answer
Sounds good will have a look Tomorrow and I’ll gets some pics to put up if I can

I shoot there regularly. In the dell, not the field/wood behind the clubhouse.
One essential for the dell is a decent front rest that will raise your barrel by a minimum of 10 inches.
Take clips for your targets and a stapler if you have one. It's a good place but some TLC is getting desperately required as the effort is going into the HFT area. And yes. it gets very cold there. Have at least one extra layer available. Oh, the insects can be vicious, but have not been so bad this year. Tuesdays have been quiet recently but 2 new guys turned up last week who are refugees from Archery.

Not too far then , whereabouts are you coming from , was in CB7 area a couple of weeks back for a funeral ?

Did you have a good day? You might have met regular attenders Colin2 (crackshot), Richard (Professional grumpy old man) or David( Pistol Rapid Fire)

A triviality, but your pics have come out with left and right swapped. It is a lovely spot to shoot in, but I think you'll agree that its presently somewhat neglected by the owners.

Well funny you should say that apparently in the last week they have painted all the targets according to the other people that were there and seem tidy yesterday

Yes- saw it today- happens every few months. Also the blackboard in photos has been moved. That has been the 30 yard left hand marker since time immemorial. It will go back...So your photos were fine. Hope to see you there sometime.
