Be aware that the wooded airgun area totally blocks the sun , can be very cold even on a hot day , if you're left handed get there early as there's only one lefty benchhi

50 miles from me but you have to have a adventure every now and again it was that or wold farm but been thereAdvice is free, sounds a bit of a trek from Cambridgeshire
Cb7 that’s Ely or or further Newmarket way I believe I’m pe14 near wisbechNot too far then , whereabouts are you coming from , was in CB7 area a couple of weeks back for a funeral ?
Sorry dint meet them, but did meet a few good blokes there and yes a very enjoyable day only managed a couple of pic of the range on the left as you drive down and I’m sure going back next time I’m on hoildayDid you have a good day? You might have met regular attenders Colin2 (crackshot), Richard (Professional grumpy old man) or David( Pistol Rapid Fire)
Yes those 2 were there today seemed good blokes had quite a chat with themI shoot there regularly. In the dell, not the field/wood behind the clubhouse.
One essential for the dell is a decent front rest that will raise your barrel by a minimum of 10 inches.
Take clips for your targets and a stapler if you have one. It's a good place but some TLC is getting desperately required as the effort is going into the HFT area. And yes. it gets very cold there. Have at least one extra layer available. Oh, the insects can be vicious, but have not been so bad this year. Tuesdays have been quiet recently but 2 new guys turned up last week who are refugees from Archery.
A triviality, but your pics have come out with left and right swapped. It is a lovely spot to shoot in, but I think you'll agree that its presently somewhat neglected by the owners.Sorry dint meet them, but did meet a few good blokes there and yes a very enjoyable day only managed a couple of pic of the range on the left as you drive down and I’m sure going back next time I’m on hoilday
Well funny you should say that apparently in the last week they have painted all the targets according to the other people that were there and seem tidy yesterdayA triviality, but your pics have come out with left and right swapped. Yes- saw it today- happens every few months. Also the blackboard in photos has been moved. That has been the 30 yard left hand marker since time immemorial. It will go back...So your photos were fine. Hope to see you there sometime.Well funny you should say that apparently in the last week they have painted all the targets according to the other people that were there and seem tidy yesterday
