Northeast STEN

No worries.
Steel BBs are 4.5mm and obviously metal and ricochet all over the place.
Airsoft BBs are 6mm plastic, although they do ricochet they hurt a lot less if they do ping back at you! Plus airsoft guns you can have full auto! It's a no brainer!
Ahh ok. Thank you for explaining the difference 👍

I'm not even into Airsoft but would love one of these. They look excellent and the aging you have done makes it look better for sure

Stirling isn't it (the Stens more refined Grandchild)? They showed us one in air cadets whilst at an RAF range going .303's but they wouldn't let us shoot it. From memory these are the guns they modified to use as Prop Guns for the Stormtroopers in the Star Wars Movies

Its finally arrived !!!! ..... my Christmas present to myself lol
Anyone who has thoughts that 6mm "Airsoft" replicas are in any way inferior to their 4.5mm counterparts has clearly
never got there hands on one of these.
The build quality of this thing is absolutely awesome .... full steel construction with no zinc alloy in sight
the attention to detail is brilliant and im sure if compared to a real steel one the outside appearances would be negligible.
it truly is outstanding
Many thanks to nikvanorton on the RAF for selling me this truly great piece of kit.

You're all set to jump out of a Dakota over Northern France - good luck !

There is also a lot more choice in airsoft than in 4.5mm ...
In another life, I was to go along the replica route again and if cost wasn't a consideration, it'd definitely be airsoft for me and an Inokatsu 1911 would be one of the first that I'd try and acquire and then a DE and then............
