used my air venturi nomad 2 yesterday with no problem gave it 3 drops of silicone oil then kept it, went to use it today and it cuts out a 100bar. opened the pressure release valve and left it running for a while then closed the valve to try again and it still cutting out at 100bar. anyone got any ideas what's wrong.

Yes, I know the issue as mine has been rebuilt by @1260engineer several times for a similar problem, that eventually turned into a total failure.
Its these little buggers..... that lead to bearing, crank and piston seal failures.
I call them popit valves, there probably 5 or 6 of the little buggers in the compression pipework, and as you can see, the spring snaps, and thus no or limited pressure.
Anyway, the full rebuild is on @1260engineer posts, just search Nomad 2 and you can see for your self.
Sorry, but the Nomad 2 is built to a price point, and it just does not last without serious mods to the main bearing, crank, piston seals and a whole lot more.
Sorry for the bad news. Hope you can get it fixed.
Mine is coming up to its sixth birthday, and is better than the day i got, thanks to this extraordinary cleaver forum member.

Good luck 👍

stripped the nomad today, changed all the check valves apart from the one on the back of the piston unable to get the little pin out felt ok when pushing from the other side. every thing looked good all seals where like new changed the rubber ones on the piston as i had them, did not see anything that was broken or worn. put back together still only pumped to a 100 bar before stalling and cutting out. a bit stuck what to try next.

I thought changing the check valves may have sorted the problem. Have you checked the electronics? as the 100 bar limit and stalling, could be a circuit board control ( electrical) problem.
Sorry I can't help further. Good luck.
A begging email to Air Venturi might help, but unfortunately it didn't help me, as the Nomad 2 is long out of production, but worth a try.

Sorry i meant to say, did you check the main bearing? Mine was absolutely trashed. (no bearings left) as its an inferior bearing for the work it has to contend with.

Main bearing was fine, don't think it will be the mother board as it starts to slow down from 90bar then cuts out at 100bar

compressor now sorted, went through everything again. the problem was the check valve housing on top of the cylinder that had a bit of corrosion at the bottom of it that was probably not allowing the check valve to seat properly. cleaned with some emery paper and it's all good now.
