New springer & chrono opinion please!

Hi, I think I might have originally mis-read my velocity notes :rolleyes: Anyway, from new the first pellets were JSB Hades 5.5mm 15.89g (given to me with the gun purchase) which gave me an average 563.38 ft/lbs over range of 557.1 - 568.5.
Second set were BSA Goldstar 5.53mm 14.66gr (just because they were at hand). They produced average 536.88ft/lbs over a range of 524.4 - 549.2
Since those inital shots, it's had a couple of dozen more shots through. I'm expecting to be out again with it on friday, so will hope to get quite a few put through then I'll reheck the chrono.
FPS not ft/lbs !

Hallo Paul , yes unfortunately some guns are picky with pellets I recently purchased a Tx 200 Hc in 22 and it likes the jsb exact jumbo 13.43, very accurate but Chronograph high 11, regarding your chronograph what model make is it because some are influenced by light etc , if able try and use a second different one to check.
As has been said above new guns need to bed in some quicker then others but as you have already mentioned you will have to try different pellets makes grains etc, bit long winded but worth it , 😀👍🏻

I have always found JSB Jumbo express to be best in .22
Even work well in my vintage BSA. Normally 5.52

@DJon & @Spitfire1
Thanks for the pellet tips.
The chrono is an AC6000 and currently the only one I have access to.
It seems from all the repsonses that have generously been given, I think I need to do a lot more shooting to get a consistent technique before I start trying to analyse any apparent inconsistences from the kit. They say bad workmen blame their tools, don't they?! ;)
Not that I'm in anyway blaming mine, I'm very happy with the gun. I hadn't realised how many variables I'd come across 🤣

You can only be as good as your rifle
Once you find the right pellets you can then start to improve but if you're gun will only do 30mm groups you will just get despondent

Hadn’t thought of it that way round!
