Been mulling over small scopes for a few weeks now as I wanted something to suit my s200 , I've had a Nikko panamax 3-9x40 on it , Lovely scope but cross hairs/ mildots are a little large for longer range paper punching ( perfect for hunting though and up to 30 yard paper targets ) I've also had a leupold 3-9x33 efr on it , lovely fine cross hairs , mega clear crisp image ( but I took it off my hw95k and it suits the 95k just perfect , So it went back on it )

Had a little nostalgic memory from the 1980s when I used a Tasco 2-7x32 ag FM scope , So had a look about to see what's available in that sort of specification , Didn't want to spend too much and didn't want to spend too little .

And so this arrived this morning , A diminutive sized hawke airmax 2-7x32 , apparently springer rated , The perfect size for my s200, perfect fit to my eye and very clear glass for the money .

I've read a fair bit about the amx reticle , People mentioning it's a very fine reticle which is perfect for my usage , Turrets feel solid , good audible clicks with positive feel about them . Now looking forward to the weekend to give it a try .

One thing to mention is that the distance between the zoom ring and objective lens end is that there is not enough room to fit a sportsmatch one piece mount ,

As I've got it on a PCP there's absolutely no issue .

On a springer , The scope is that light weight 2 piece mounts would be more than adequate , Any doubts and a recoil pin could be used , But to be honest I'd very much doubt it would be needed .

Cracking little scope if your wanting something small ,

I generally shoot at 6 mag when using variable mag scopes ,So it fits my preferences perfectly

I'm amazed (and envious) that you are able to use it mounted on the action rails and avoid the barrel one. I think that would be too far rearward for me. How do you find the eye relief @Tonyn ?

Because the stock reach is so short the eye relief for me is perfect , There's very little wiggle room but it just works , As a side note I seen a online review with photos of the scope that happened to be mounted exactly this way , So I took the plunge and it payed off 👍

Got one a short while ago to replace my broken Wulf 2-7. It's for the Commie.
I just love it, great glass, I love the ret, not too thin for me.
AO is stiff so put a coaster on.
Zero on x7 and shoot standing at x4
My double strap BKL fit ok, 1" wide.
Just love it.

Fantastic little scope at the price point. I probably have half a dozen or so on both PCP's and springers at this point in time and all of them have been faultless. You can't go wrong .

Loving my 2-7x32 also. Great little scope, nice and light.
It's currently on a 30 but I'm intending to pick up another soon for my 99 and might sell one or two of my optisan 10x44s. though it would be good to keep at least one for long distance (50-100m) competitions that I do once a year.

Ooh
You have both 30 and 99??
Could you upload a few pics of them side by side please?
I have the 30 and 97, so tempted to get a 99 as I wonder if it be give best of both worlds?

Is the 99 distinctively bigger/ heavier more bulky than the 30? Likewise is it smaller, lighter than the 99?

I probably won’t be buying until August, spent enough and don’t want to push my luck with Mrs Tosh 😳🤭😧🫣😐

🤣👍🏻

Totally agree with OP comments. I've got a few of these, and they are superb.
Particularly suitable on my Katran SC as it still fits in the factory small hardcase with scope fitted.

I've got 10 of these now, all on springers and agree with all of the above; fantastic quality scopes and a great ret. My only wish is that Hawke would make an IR version like they do with the Vantage of the same size. Not a major issue, but shooting HFT into dimly lit areas it can be a little hard to make out the reticle as its nice and fine.
