My existing works fine, it’s around 10 years old, need new software for work which is not compatible with it.
Also need to keep all map locations that are on it.
The process seems easy, but what am I likely to lose🤔👍
Thanks

Had to get a new phone recently as the old one wasn't compatible with the banking app,
Just replaced the old Samsung with a newer model and the bloke in the shop transfered everything on the old phone to the new one using smart switch and didn't loose anything that was on the old phone.

Hi most phone you can add a app or it maybe already be on your phone you can then transfer all your stuff off old phone to new some let you select what you want to transfer to the new one or you can just transfer all of your stuff.

If its google maps and you have a google account attached the data will remain.

Ive just upgraded my A class £600 4 year old samsung. i got it free. Got a Refurb S class s24 plus for £400 new £1000+. 30 day policy Amazon seller. So almost top of the range and not that old 2024/5. Last longer than a cheap £200-£400. You can not tell its been used. Night and day in terms of quality and performance.

If you need a phone to use an app for work, shouldn't your company be issuing a work phone to you?
Unless they are heavily subsidising your personal phone.
I usually stick to Samsung as the old to new swaps ae very easy. And they last.

Self employed, my old one is not compatible with software to allow access to secure grid sites, no access, no wages.
I have a new phone as a present from the wife that I really didn’t want, so have that up and running now, stuff I lost I have managed to recover 👍

If it's an Android, surely a backup to Google cloud will ensure the new phone picks up all data and apps, restoring the new phone to be as the original?

As long as you still have the old phone any data will remain on the phone.
But as said Google backup works well
