Hello all

Just a heads up I have a ds35 50 that within a year the screen had dead pixels.

Roll forward to April 2025 I thought I would try the Nightstalker 4K variant it arrived new with multiple dead pixels so it went back.

I have just received the latest nightstalker 4K variant it was the revised version without the torch that has just come out.

You guessed it the screen has dead pixels so it arrived at noon today and is already on its way back.

Maybe very unlucky but 1-2 showing this issue is unlucky but to have had all 3 across 3 different variants makes me feel like it’s either poor quality components or QC.

Anyway that’s my finding I hope you have better luck.

Cheers

I've two and never really noticed any dead pixels, but then I've not gone looking for them.

These are obvious on a light background.

Real shame as they are my favourite but I can’t stick with them being so lacking

It’s either DNT or Alpex light for now.

I might try a Nocpix bolt 35mm.

I've got five DS35-70's and although I've had issues with every one of them, but none of them have had a dead pixels issue - or at least I don't think they have . Do they only show if the screen is in colour? (I only use my Pards at night).

Depends on the colour of the dead or stuck pixel.

This time they were black so very visible on daytime light backgrounds.

The first Nightstaler was the 70mm 4k with the Star Trek IR and LRF.

The one that arrived this week was the latest version.

So the Pro model with 800x800 display

The eX has the 2560x2560 display.

Also all UK models now only have the lower profile LRF module as the LED IR which was required for the UK market was pretty pointless on a 4K unit. So an external VCSEL will do the job much better..
