Some time ago I picked up a .22 Daystate 12mm OD Lothar Walther barrel second hand, so since my new lathe is up and running now I thought I would have a go at modding the barrel to fit my R10.

Now the R10 takes a barrel that's a tad under 16mm so I was going to have to sleeve the barrel at the breach end also the barrel was going to be shortened to 305mm (carbine length).

I turned the barrel down a little and turned up a bit on BMS round bar

Used a set screw and epoxy-ed the sleeve on

Turned a 1/2 inch UNF adaptor as well and did the single point thread on the Boxford AUD and cleaned it up with a die after

Lot of swarf there.

Oil Blacked the adaptor (its going in a shroud but it adds an amount of anti corrosion protection)

I Have lapped out the barrel but still have to do the lead into the breach next week I should think.

what was wrong with the original barrel ?
Nothing I just wanted to see if the Lothar barrel would have an improvement, one thing I will say is while lapping it, it was smoother from the start than the bsa ones I have lapped in the past.
