Trapped my finger at work and it was pretty obvious the nail was on its way off.
Throbbing and I could feel the pressure building up under it.
So
Did what I usually do, drilled a hole to let the blood out.
It got a little spurty for a short time but feels Soooo much better now!
They didn't appreciate it as much though🤣

You could have used a hot pin so they could enjoy the smell of burning nail at the same time, spoil sport
I've seen that done. Very dramatic with the smoke and burning smell.
I use one of the small PCB drill bits I've always got in my tool box. Mega sharp, I don't use a drill, just the bit.
Rest it on the nail and spin it between my thumb and finger (other hand obviously) and wait for the pretty red fountain🤣

The good old tradesman's first aid/DIY surgery kit. 🤣
Stanley knife
Drill bits
Side cutters
Super glue
Bog roll
Electrical tape.

Everything short of re attaching a limb is possible if you have these items🤣
And no wasting time with accident forms or restocking your first aid kit.

Ya pussycat, down here in Yorkshire we use a 6mm masonry bit and the Black and Decker on hammer action 🤣

A smashed nail and a severe toothache are 2 pains you can't describe to anyone that never had the experience of either.
I've drilled more than one nail over the years. Sometimes I get lucky and can work a blade under the front to let the blood out and relieve the pressure.
