So i picked up this lovely fwb 600 yesterday. I'd say it has seen better days this one. I found a bit of rust. I'm sure it will buff right out.

But now i'm wondering about refinishing the barrel shroud. How good are these cold bluing solutions? Maybe cerakote would be better?

Might be worth getting it reblacked professionally?
Probably cheaper if you start the rust removal yourself but ask the guys doing the main work first.

That stock is ****ING hideous, I reckon.

At least nobody will steal it.

I'm thinking about how to preserve its immaculate condition

How anyone can neglect something that expensive is beyond me. I wouldn't even treat a relum like that. It's going to need a pro reblue but if you do all the polishing yourself it will be around half the price.

Hope you didn't give more that 50 quid for that....
90 €. Was asking about the sights that a guy sold for 45€. Said it was from a 600. I asked if they would fit a 300s without modification. Guy says i can have the whole gun for 90. And he also said that it looks like hell. That he had never seen anything worse. Challenge accepted! 😂

I'm gonna begin tearing it apart tomorrow. Think i will go with ferric chloride for the bluing. Or possibly ceracoat/duracoat or whatever now is the best of them.

I see this a fun experiment. I have never been into fixing airguns but i did my first last week. And it works. So this is my next project.

That is so very depressing. How much effort would it of taken to smear a liberal coating of gun oil all over the metal work then put it in a decent quality fleece gun bag and store in a cupboard?

I think i have found my method if i decide to reblue it.
