It's starting to be finished now..
As seen through the scope...
A short background:
Outside city limits in rural zones (an overwhelming part of Sweden) one can use firearms at will, as long as one fullfil the "basic rule of firearm use", as is using a firearm "without annoyance or risk of danger for others".
A magnified view from my window
Now with the new gun legislation, effective from the first of July, this have somewhat been clarified:
"At a regular shooting place a mound of earth should be used, with a non-penetrable second surface behind, suitable for the calibres used"
Now, this is a recommendation, but it is undoubtedly a good common sense advice.
I know some people here consider it unnecessary or overkill since they might use lands with other people nowhere to be found within tens of kilometers.
From my shooting viewpoint.
In my case I have never ever have to present my FAC for the Police or any other authority, nor have anyone visited any location I have used shooting.
But...
When I apply for a another FAC or similar I expect a swift and correct handling of my issue since I trust the Government, likewise they trust me and as a part of this reasoning there will be a fine mound of earth to found here, in accordance with the intention of our law makers.
After a lot of manual digging and rolling around 10 turns of a large wheelbarrow it finally is taking shape - a large 2 x 1 x 1.5 meter mound in front of a sturdy natural stone wall, about half a meter thick by itself.
