My Eclipse is slamming/is this caused by the seal?

My Eclipse mk1 wouldn't go much over 9 with the PTFE seal, my mk2 was ok with it, power wise, just a tad harsh, so yeah, the PTFE washers are definitely hit and miss and not the best

Titan spring needed reducing by a few coils to keep the gun legal and that one does 11+ very comfortably.
The other does 11+ with next to no preload.
I also have an Excel, Vulcan and Xocet and all run at mid 10's but had to be dialled back to sit there.
Again, all running parachute seals rather than the PTFE washer.
All .22.





That was only applicable to the OEM PTFE piston washer but even then, never seemed effective or sensible to me!

Yeah I must admit it does seem counter intuitive, but it was only intended to be done once per new piston head.
But as to the benefits I'm not 100% it actually works as suggested.
 
29 years of service from the PTFE washer in my Hurricane before I swapped it out, just cos I could!

Yeah funny all my HW have the original PTFE except my 55 which is still the leather original, probably wear out if run dry, but then done are self lubing although I take that with a pinch of salt, I remember the Mrs getting a new oven & the salesman said it was self cleaning,😳 say no more!

I think the only Weirauch to ever be supplied with a PTFE seal is the HW45
 
Yep

I had 2 HW45s, one in each caliber
Ozzie seal made a very noticeable and big improvement

Only guns I've ever left PTFE piston washers in are my Hurricane and Tempest, purely down to the fact there's no aftermarket option available and I'm yet to find a seal from another application that fits the bill
 
No, definitely not.
Every PTFE seal, sheet or tape that I've ever seen is pure white.
I assume they will be polyurethene.
