Anyone have any experience with the many multi-fit silencers available? The ones based on the Webley Pro system.

I’ve got the Bagnall and Kirkwood version, not the most in depth instructions so I was wondering if anyone had any insight as to whether this is right. (Barrel sleeve already inside the cap)

I understand that the clamping rings expand, but this is how close I can get it by hand tightening. The instructions say to use spanner’s after hand tightening but I was worried about cross threading. Does this look about right?

Cheers

Personally I don't rate them and think you'd be better off with a 1/2" UNF slip on adaptor that gives you access to a much wider range of mods

I had the Webley version on a hw80 many years ago , they are more of a barrel weight than anything imho . I would tighten it up a bit more than hand tight as it's libel to come off .

Yeah that’s partly what I’m using it for and partly for looks. That’s how much I can get it hand tight. Instructions say get it hand tight then a few steps later use spanner’s to tighten. I was just worried about cross-threading, it seems a long way from screwing home.

I have one on my HW99 and I just hand tightened with a cloth on the base for grip. Been working very well View attachment 832946
Nice, looks good! When the moderator is constructed off of the barrel, the screw cap finished all the way to the rest of the body. Am I wrong in thinking it can finish the same once on the barrel? Does it kind of just tighten to a point regardless?

They don't or won't but the two halves up not on thicker barrels anyway , I tightened mine by hand then used two correctly fighting spanners to just nip up a bit more . Never moved in about ten years until I removed it .

What I needed to hear, thank you. Hopefully it will tighten so there’s no more thread on show.

I looked into it, but felt this suited my needs the most! Mainly for the decent weight of it.

It seemed to tighter as much as I needed without a spanner but a little nip would probably be best.

Don't worry about how much thread is showing just nip it up but don't monkey it ,not sure about the new ones but the older type came with 2 different size sort of nylon cones to suit different barrel thicknesses.
