Hi all, im thinking of maybe getting a CM200. I shoot a 162ei at the moment and was hoping somebody could give me their thoughts on whether it would be worth changing to a 200. The 162ei shoots great but as the 200 is a newer model i wondered if it would be an upgrade or basically the same gun with only a few changes. Has anyone changed from a 162 to a 200 and found a big improvement?
Thanks

I have a 162ei.. Can I ask at what level are you shooting - about what average are you getting on the 10m pistol cards?

Hi tend to do mostly 6y rather than 10m. Average about 91/100 in the league i shoot in.

Well, it's always nice to treat yourself to a new toy. :) To be honest, it won't shoot any better that the pistol you have. The "New" dry fire system is no real benefit over the 162ei.. You can click away with your 162 to you hearts content and still only need to change the batteries once a year.
The only reason it may shoot better for you is if, by lucky chance, the grip fits you better, but then you will usually modify it to fit anyway.

If you were to clamp your pistol in a fixed rest and fire 10 shots at 10m, you would end up with a group about twice the size of a .177 pellet. If you were the do exactly the same with a brand new £2,000 CM2000 the groups would be just the same.

As they say "Practice, practice, practice" and it's especially true with precision pistol shooting.

Yes you're right. It probably is just a case of wanting a new toy. The 162ei does shoot well, maybe should just stick with it and keep practicing.

One thing the 200 has is a bluetooth electonics board that provides lots of information on your shooting. You can fit a Bluetooth electronics board into your 162ei as an upgrade and it can give you the information on an App.
Ive seen it but never used it. I have a Scatt shooter training system that does all of that so ive not bothered upgrading.

I think I can confidently answer No, to that question...
Any improvement is likely to be miniscule, if indeed there is any at all.

But hey, if you really like it and it makes you practice more then you might see something - but it won't be the gun providing it.

Ahh - but the CM 2000 has an octagon barrel and carbon thingy - it must be better. :)

Thanks all, looks like you have saved me some £££s. (y)
