I am looking into buying a monocular. My research has narrowed me down to the Hawke ED 10 x 42 and the Bushnell Legend HD 10 x 42..
Both look same but the Bushnell is double the proce of the Hawke

Im looking for feedback on these and any others similar quality that i should be considering.

If anyone thinking of selling, drop me a PM with details

Hello, I have the Hawke 8x42 ED, great in last light, Trying the 10x there was a bit of shake if you did not hold tight, I bought it when i helped on a sheep farm at Lambing time with foxes

Just trying to help here and stop you getting a ban, so just make sure you put up a wanted ad in the sales section, and edit your post here. Cheers.

OK thanks. I never thought about that. The option to Edit is no longer available to me?? I have put a wanted ad up now in any case, sop will remove from this section once i know how to do it

I did an awful lot of research and went with the Opticron Explorer WA ED-R 8x42 a couple of years ago. I prioritised low light performance. The attached AI summary is a good comparator.

I still have it but also have a set of Kahles Helia 10x42 binos. These are similar to the discontinued Swaro SLC HDs The opticron is very good in comparison to the Kahles......

Can anyone comment on how accurate a range finder is? I've seen them used on FT ranges but I'm dubious about the results reached. They are going to be allowed in some FT comps in the future

They are usually quoted as being accurate to within a metre of the displayed distance.
I have a Hawke LRF400 Professional which I can believe meets that specification. I do find a slight variation when ranging varying reflective/colour surfaces but nothing significant.

I have the Hawke Endurance ED 8x42. All I will say is that I don't feel let down in any way, very clear optics with smooth precise focusing and works in harmony with my rifle scope which is set for 8x also.
