Mobile backstop home range

Has anyone ever looked into these type of curtains or know how much they might be?

finally got round to it and have to say I am seriously surprised ...

All curtains have a 2.35m drop, curtain width is bespoke to measurements by the full metre. Each Curtain will be hemmed as necessary and will include eyelets with a 25mm inner diameter and will be suitable for use with a wire hanging. Eyelets will be positioned every 50cm
  • Curtains will be supplied in a storage bag
  • Cut to size per customer requirements
Price per metre of material £15
Handling & cutting change per curtain £35
+ P&P £10 (up to 10m) -£25 (up to 35m)

Lead time 3-4 weeks from payment ... I think this is more than worth a test

Pardon my ignorance but what does handling change per curtain mean £35
I guess its the entire manufacturing process outside of the material charge itself as it is done to measure - at least that is how it reads

As above. So for me, if I want a 2m curtain its £30 for material. £35 for the manufactur. And £10 for the postage.

If I wanted 20m curtain then it's £300 material. £35 manufactur. £25 postage.

Seriously thinking a 2m or 3m curtain would enable me to shoot in the house. Is that crazy. Gotta be worth £75.

Also would hang from the kids swing as a safe garden backstop. Stop me lugging around 20kg paving slabs 😅

I have similar thoughts; it almost seems to be too cheap to be true but if it works on competitive level I guess it must be sufficient

I've just joined the forum and was blown away by the mobile target set up that started this thread. Mine is nowhere near as creative, but I will share it anyway since it may appeal to others with my modest ambitions.

This is the back view to show the metal plates (3mm if I remember correctly) around which the frame is built. I wanted to be able to convince people it was safe, so I figured some solid metal would do that. The outside frame is 45mm x 70mm timber with 20mm x 20mm inserts to secure the plates. This is over-engineered and makes the thing heavier than it should be. The outside frame is just there to hold the plates up (I now realise) and doesn't take any punishment itself, so smaller timbers would do.

I've stuck carpet to the front face as I thought it would minimise any ricochet. Again the central timber is 45mm x 70mm, but I think this is needed as it is likely to take a fair few hits.

The shelves are just perched on two rods which makes take down and assembly easy and reduces the number of things left sticking out. I can add to the number, or move them, easily. You can obviously put what you like on the shelves. I have found that empty shotgun cartridges make really great targets. The kids love them as they look pretty small, so are satisfying to hit, and they can ping for quite a long way. Spinners and the like can be set in front of the backstop.

Hope this may be of some use to someone.

Regards,

Richard

It looks solid & really well constructed. In the theme of 'mobile backstop' - liking the carry handles!

Blimey, makes my old breadbin stuffed with rags faced with layer after layer of duct tape look very amateurish!

The major problem is that it is over-engineered and a bit on the heavy side. The handles help a lot, especially if I can rope someone in to help me!

Looking to make a mobile backstop/target area as a summer project, lots of inspiration here thanks

So I've emailed the company a few questions but if all good I will be getting one for the garden (and maybe the odd indoor pistol shoot lol).

Quite a few friends and family members want to have a shoot this summer in the garden and so extra protection seems sensible....
