Fellow pew pew enthusiasts,

Having recently secured a new permission for shooting rats, rabbits. Squirrels and the like.. I’m looking to get a stumpy/compact pcp rifle.. The permission although in acreage is sizeable, the stable area and associated areas are very tight for space..
Max range without breaking cover would be 15-20yds, and I find my current choice of pew pews although great for the outer paddocks etc etc, a little on the cumbersome side.. Currently using AA S510T in .177 and a Kral Mortal in .22..

What would you fellow rat popping enthusiasts recommend for a compact/stumpy pew pew..

Thanks all..

How compact do you want to go? Plenty of great bullpups within your budget, or something compact and foldable such as Brk ranger xr (i have one absolutely fantastic with a hikmicro on it but very low shot count as in 30 shots in 177).
Putting my ranger xr with the stock extended to my shooting lop with a hw silencer fitted next to my fx wildcat bp with a short silencer fitted there is less than an inch between the 2 even though the fx has a 500mm barrel vs around 230 odd mm from memory on the brk. The fx also has a much more usable shot count, and to me a much nicer trigger.

If you want the full compact experience, a used Edgun Leshiy Classic has to be top of the list.

Whatever you get, I would avoid a bullpup due to the distance between scope and barrel.

☝️ what he said ! Yes the Airmarks Krait or even the Katran compact would be my go to

Hello, For that Budget you can buy most high end carbine type PCPs, Bottle and Tube, Look for a good used P15 would be my choice, The RRP is way over the what i consider good value for these PCPs

I’ve an Ap1000 light accurate and folding stock makes it easy yo carry I’ve fired it with the Goyojo gs 515 day and night scope for a bit of pest control in back garden I’ve zeroed to 7 meters and did some practice shots and perfect results so just awaiting the quarry to return

Youre shooting 15-20 yards, but an s510 is too long? Sounds like someones making excuses for a new rifle to me…
No excuses needed for a new rifle.. if I want one I go get one it’s as simple as that.. as previously mentioned the S510 is great for the paddocks and surrounding areas but for in the stable yard and feed stores and the like, I find it a little cumbersome.. what would you suggest? A Happy Gilmore approach with a 9 iron..

Compact enough so it’s not like trying to sweep a telephone box with a yard broom.. I’ve been looking at the BRK range online, but feel I need to see one in person.. a trip to the shops is in order me thinks.. Thanks for your input..

Well my genuine suggestion would be the bsa r10. I have used both an aa ultimate sporter, also a carbine r10, i must admit, the only time the shorter r10 really made my life slightly easier, was shooting from a vehicle, which is probably as tight as youre going to get for space. Just factor in a regulator change at some point, not a biggy…

AirMaks .22 Sub Compact. Good shot count and very accurate for such a compact rifle. 16 shot mag (18 in .177). Nice trigger, folding stock. Definitely needs a good moderator though as they are very loud without one.
Another vote for the BSA Ultra. Very accurate and reliable from my experience.
HW100k. The FSB version is compact and a mod isn't necessary as the shroud does a good job.

KATRAN sub compact for me, I shoot around farm yards and it’s my go to setup now. With a 16 shot mag and around 90 shots per fill it’s perfect
