Any advice is appreciated, im about to do the base and having difficulty deciding which way would be best.
Its going to be 4.8 by 3 metres.

I was thinking of 5 lengths of 4.8, 2 for the sides and the other 3 going longways adjacent, two 3 metres at the ends with some bits cut and put in between the spaces.

Any good?
Cheers 👍🍻

I think I would go somewhere with log cabins, and take a tape measure.
Find a size your happy with, because woods not cheap 👍.

You're right there, bloody expensive, i should have said that I've already got the wood, luckily managed to get some good 4.8 lengths for a tenner each 👍

Log cabins can weigh a lot!
Theres your normal garden shed type shiplap, then theres proper log cabins, 28mm, 40+mm and even 70+mm.
Obviously the thicker the logs used the more its gonna weigh, so the base needs to take the weight.
My log cabins were mid range 44mm thick logs and I used recycled plastic 4x4 legs, going 2ft down into the ground, and there's about 26 legs for each cabin. I chose recycled plastic ones cos they don't rot. Timber legs will rot, it may take 10 or 15 years, but they will eventually rot.
The legs then have 6x2(or they might be 8x3?) joists screwed to the supporting legs. They are pretty chunky.
My cabins are 4m x 3m.
Bigger is generally better, think mine has 28mm floor (and its insulated underneath) and 28mm roof (which is also insulated).

Pic of my bases...

@pjgtech you're making me feel like ive massively under engineered this lol, ive just dug out a few inches, filled the holes with pea shingle, put some membrane down and whacked solid blocks on top, that's what my cabin is gonna sit on 🫠 or should I say sink on haha

As long as you have enough pads it should be fine, you are trying to spread the weight, so better to have more pads than less.
Oh, and make sure its all level, otherwise it will be a nightmare building the cabin. (y)

There was a thread on this a while back, see linky:
