I fitted a lane regulator to my 2nd hand puncher K this week, and it seems to have been a good improvement.
My goal was to improve FPS consistency, and if possible, a slight increase in shot count.
I was never convinced my gun was standard to begin with as the power curve was already flatter than typical, but without an obvious sweet spot. I found the transfer port was already bigger than the 1.5mm factory size and the hammer spring had been cut down, ghetto style.
As part of the process, I replaced hammer spring and valve spring (coil springs direct) resized transfer port in stages and refaced the seat on the firing valve stem. I did not need to replace any of the seals on the gun or regulator, everything went back fine with a bit of silicone grease.
The process of making incremental changes took a few days to arrive at something that worked, and was a ball ache to do, as each time requires a complete de-pressure and refill - and I only have a hand pump in my garage.
I previously obtained about 55-60 shots at a useable power range, with a spread of 24 FPS, Sd of 5.2
Now I get 70 regulated shots around 11.3 lb/ft with a spread of just 8 FPS and Sd of 2.1
Using QYS streamlined 8.64g out of the tin, and standard 200cc cylinder at standard fill pressure of 200bar.
