The current HW77 and HW95 beech stocks are the only ones that I like, the HW97 would be better without the stupid cut-out. Minelli don't make all HW stocks.

Why does every new laminate have to be red, blue or orange? If that was in green they'd sell shed loads.

Best Stocks HW ever made in my opinion were the MK1 80 & 77 with the raised cheek piece.

I'm a lefty and started out by hunting down Walnut (preferred) left hand stocks. I found this comparable to my other hobby of collecting, rocking horse poo which also takes up a lot of time and effort. So I am now a, laminate convert as all of the one I have come across are ambidextrous.

To my eyes Daystate Safari is only slightly awful the rest are grades of awfulness with the weird Weihrauch anniversary stuff being the worst I have yet to see. Posh wood is my favourite, plain beech is fine but I would take black synthetic in preference to laminate as at least I can see a functional point to synthetic.

Nice to look at and that's about it, Adds to much weight and can be quite slippery when handling, Hardly any grip as the finnish is shinny.

That blue is minging - if they did it in Forest Green, like the 77, I'd buy one tomorrow ! (and I've already got a very nice beech one)

This is only between wood or laminate (to many variables to include tactical)

Me personally l like both a laminate (especially green) and a wood (especially walnut) stock.

The brightly coloured laminate stocks are totally down to personal taste, which is fine. They're not for me ... I have a Weihrauch with their grey one though, which is absolutely gorgeous both to look at and use:

Laminate stocks are solid sellers in Scandinavia, they handle moisture and cold, snowy conditions better than natural wood without being plastic.

As Varminter pointed out earlier:- Weihrauch have just introduced a special edition blue laminate HW95K, once I'd emptied my sick bucket, I got on the web and nearly every RFD of repute have got them in stock ready to go !
WTF are HW thinking ?! the 50th Anniversary blue HW50 (99) was bad enough and I really think they've missed a trick in not doing this 95K special edition in Forest Green or even Grey like the 98 & 35 Specials !
Maybe that's just me ?! (rant over).

No, I totally agree, I’d probably buy a forest green or grey one, but not that blue thing. Bright colours suit some guns/stocks, but not a traditional sporter.

I like both if they are lovely looking and that is in the eye of the beholder. I have some lovely forest laminate ones, always does it for me! But I love a nice figured walnut stock too. I replaced the plain lacquered beech ones on a couple of HWs with walnut CS ones and recently acquired a 25 yr old S400 in lovely condition with what I thought was a nice light walnut stock , lovely. However on closer examination i think it’s a seasoned nicely figured beech stock with an oiled finish. I’ve no idea if this came from the factory all those years ago and age darkened it and brought the grain out or wether someone in the past refinished it, however I won’t be changing it it’s really nice.

Yes, a forest green one (like the Customs Stocks one) would have been really nice but the blue one is just too bright.
