I'm considering getting a small lightweight rifle for hide work, shooting from my vehicle and general walk and stalk.
Not looking to spend much as I have a HW100 that is my pride and joy. So, the humble NP02 in .177 is catching my eye. For those who own, or have owned this little Turkish, what's your opinions?
TIA Steve.

Il probably get sent to hell but I really didn’t like mine. The copper connector between the two cylinders are a constant source of leaks and is a bad design. The bottle seal is another one. Ridiculous LOP. Unless you can sort the transfer port you will be disappointed with the shot count for the amount of air available. The NP03 looks a better gun or P15 would be my choice though I’ve not owned either

I got this from pelpax last year for £300 on the recommendation of people on here, well i wanted it in .22 for ratting , its not quiet by a long chalk nor is it light so if you want to walk around with it get a sling to throw it over your shoulder but, even at £360 its worth a punt.

Ive had two and they both performed very well indeed, being accurate and a big shotcount, does need a silencer adding to the length. I started doing a lot of NV and inside pesting so found the npo3 a better option being lighter and the adjustable butt is perfect for nv add-ons, shotcount is lower obviously but your used to that with the hw100

I couldn’t fault both really and they are a good budget no frills workhorse

Loved my NP02 and I’d have another in a heartbeat, mine was the most unfussy gun I’ve had and put a huge smile on my face, it would literally shoot any pellet accurately and I never had any problems with it. I’d quite like a .25 one to be honest. They’re not really short or light so maybe as Chris says, the NP03 might be a better bet for you.

I had one and it's was very good for the price point.

Just be aware never cock it pointed upwards as pellets can fall back into the action.

Also I was using it from my driver's seat and found the big bottle and long lop made in car handling a bit of a faff.

So because of that I sold it and bought a BSA Ultra, and yes I regret selling it.

So just recently missing a side lever action rifle, I bought a Kral Empire xs as it was slimmer than the NP02 for better in car handling.

Eg: if your pointing out the window across the passenger seat and see a target that requires a shot on the other side between A pillar and open drivers door its easier and quicker with a slimmer and shorter lop rifle than the NP02.

Oh yes forgot about the empire xs, probably a better bet than the 02 being a single cylinder, though it will still need a fettle with the transfer port and hammer spring to get decent shot count. Pretty much all the Turk guns are restricted by just fitting a pin prick port with original tractor hammer spring, which wouldn’t be such a problem without all the anti tampers. Once sorted like my puncher breaker they make fine guns.

Very pleased with my .22 NP02, very accurate and easy to handle. Had no trouble with leaks🤞(yet), but needed a tinker as power was down. Needed a seriously set back mount to use a compact scope on it though! For the money (and hard case), well worth a punt.

I've also a .22 and love it. Did you adjust the power yourself as mine is sitting around 10.5. I've had to use a one piece mount sat as far back on the rail as possible to clear the magazine and give enough eye relief. Which mount did you use?

No, my mate did it, he tinkers with airguns all day long. I know he had to drill out the anti tampers, but what he actually did I don't know. I think mine was lower than 10.5, but last time I checked was around 11.7, much improved! I used the BKL 354 one piece mount which at 4" gave me the perfect eye relief. (y)

Get yourself the NP02 in .25 for any pest up to 30yrds,I've had mine 2yrs and had it down the range today[not used it for mths]..hitting 12 mill bulls at 30ydr,zeroed.
Also 40mill spinners at 55yds,no kidding. It does take a bit of practice, but a very capable gun for the money..Using FTT 20grn
Buy one

Probably one of if not the best budget all rounder, mine has been faultless, very accurate rifle 😉👍

Yep good little guns, like mine a lot.
Couple of minor niggles that some suffer from....
Some have heavy triggers, so if you can try before you buy, you might get one with a light trigger.
Some suffer from a small burr inside the loading the port, which will nick the o rings on the fill probe every time you insert it/remove it, which will then lead to leaks, but easily sorted with a small file or dremell.
On the underside of the cocking lever linkage, there is a screw. It can come loose, just keep an eye on it.
The scope mounting rails are a bit small, I had to get a cantilevered scope mount to get the scope back far enough on mine.
Some say the LOP is too long, but I'm only 5'8" and seems fine for me, plus you can get shorter butts via Evil Bay.
The OEM mags are a bit naff, like most Kral mags, but there are very good 3d Printed ones out there, mine has a Carm one and its excellent.
Overall they are good accurate guns, mines a range gun and hits pretty much everything I aim at.
Cheers

Hated mine, used it once and put it back on the rack. Went to use it again 6 months later and its leaking air as fast as you can fill it.
Poor quality materials and engineering and rough to operate too. Not many shots per charge despite the huge air capacity. The magazines and SSL are particularly poor. Factor in replacing these with Carm items and the price of a silencer and you could buy a quality brand.
I've learnt my lesson and wont buy a "budget" PCP again.
