As always, the law abiding amongst us are being penalised due to those using knives to maim of murder. Don’t think the change in the law will be adhered to by them….

In addition to length, serrated edge or holes in blade etc.
If the bladed item is a tool for legitimate work purpose, carry it when needed.
If it is an ornament, leave it at home.
Many knives are a work of art, a credit to their maker and come at a price too expensive for daily use.
A jury, however, are unlikely to be swayed by aesthetics only the knowledgeable will appreciate.

They are not allowed anymore cos its not "Woke" and it might offend or hurt some poor dahlings feelings!!!
Exactly, the Police will pussy foot with around certain groups so as to not offend anyone or be seen as Racist.
But if it was me, well, I'd instantly be a violent right wing extremist and banged up.
Or if I started shouting that certain groups of people should be done in by having their throats cut, they'd throw away the key

I wouldn't mind so much if these new laws were in anyway relevant to knife crime itself, but something like 90% of injuries and fatalities involving knives are caused by cheap kitchen knives either pinched from mum's cutlery draw or bought from Tesco's; the recent horrific attack that resulted in three little girls killed and several injured foe example.
Unfortunately, police crime reports never distinguish types when recording crimes involving bladed objects other than "axe", "machete", "sward" or "knife". However, as soon as the news media wants some pictures, out come the big Bowie knives.

Knife stats include ALL sharp objects , including screwdriver , bottle , glass , scissors etc. .

Because it is easier for brainless politicians to ban than to ask an expert

No one was ever killed with a kitchen knife or a craft knife, or a shard of glass,
As someone has already said, it is only the law abiding who are affected.

Knives don't stab people rappers do

This is a big relief, I thought I was going to have to give up a Martindale Golock that sees regular use in the garden 😅

look at the sentence he got .

A white Peugeot van had collided with a lamppost and the driver – Saqikel – was seen by members of the public to throw a machete in nearby bushes before getting back in the van.

Officers found £266.50 in cash and five small bags of cannabis inside the vehicle, as well as a further 19 bags at his home in Dogsthorpe Road, Dogsthorpe.

He was released on bail but arrested again on 17 March this year in Millfield, Peterborough.

Saqikel was stood on the corner of Lincoln Road and Searjeant Street when he saw police officers approaching and threw his coat over a wall.

Believing he was trying to hide something, the officers stopped and searched Saqikel, finding £380 in cash on him and a can of pepper spray – a prohibited firearm, as well as five small bags of cannabis and a machete in the coat.
Saqikel appeared at Huntingdon Law Court on Wednesday (28 August) where he was sentenced to 38 weeks in prison after admitting being concerned in the supply of cannabis, two counts of possession of a bladed article in a public place and possession of a weapon for discharge of a noxious liquid – namely pepper spray.

He must also forfeit £646.50 in cash which will be donated to Cambridge Women’s Aid.

He will no doubt not serve the full 38 weeks and once released he will be found again with another machete.
