Just got home from a spot of shooting around the yard with my new nocpix ace H50R thermal scope

Just a small collection of clips from tonight once the dog has finished bombing about .

I also go through the menu a little bit . But its just gives you a bit of an idea .

You can actually see my boys balls swinging 😂 you gotta love 60 htz

any footage on higher zoom ? every thermal video is always on base mag 😭
True enough, but they don't look that good though 😉 anyway didn't film with the intention of it being a 'promo video ' i did zoom in on those baskets against the wall .

The rest of the zoom you cant see .
The nocpix has optical zoom upto x3 which magnifies the display not the image .
So while your looking at a beautiful image at x3 it is in fact upto x9 for the user .
Every thermal or digital scope has a full mag of around x24 which is completely useless
I for one have never used anything more the x10 ( even with glass ) apart from the odd occasion when i might go a little higher , i still want to maintain a decent FOV in the event of a miss ,last thing i want is to lose the animal in my sights and the be faffing around with the scope mag trying to find it again .

But lets say i did feel the need to go right upto x24 i only have to zoom to x8 my optical zoom will take the display picture and do the hard work and zoom the rest of the way to x24
You see where this is going don't you .

With this scope i never have to go any higher than x5 because i can zoom the display upto x15 with absolute minimum pixelation
My drone pro has a fixed mag of x10 which is about the best digital NV scope made to date , its the perfect hunting scope mag wise for me at least , judging but its fan base a lot of others too .

At the end of the day lets try and keep a little perspective , these are hunting scopes NOT benchrest scopes .
I have been using high end thermal for about 6-7 yrs , pulsar , hikmicro, senopex ect
But this scope is superb and the best i have used to date .

Is it perfect ...NO 😂 of course not but like the title states ..

Lovely footage 👍

Yeah its certainly not bad , as i was saying to a good mate of mine , i more i use it ,the more i understand how to push the image functions to really get the best from it.
Its also a very cleverly thought out scope . 👍
Bit too strong money for me to shoot a few rats. But at the rate new models seem to be appearing maybe it wont be long before its in the bracket I can live with LOL

Bet it wont buddy . Even old thermion pros are still stupid money and there sensors are 2 yrs behind everyone else .
But we live in hope matey , we live in hope 👍

According to Ian’s web site, the H50R has a 12-micron 640×480 thermal sensor with an impressive 15mK NETD.

I’m fairly sure my Krypton had the same, 4 years ago. It would appear that some sensors haven’t changed in that time?

maybe sensors and chips could be the same but different softwares can make better use of the hardware.

Your good at putting your point across too !

@One on top of two I think you are secretly trying to make me buy this 😂. Let’s face it I’ve got the same set up in HMR ORDERED!!

Do you think this thermal is overkill for HMR or do you use it a lot on yours please?

Well ians website is wrong ! From nocpix website ..

IMG_0121.jpeg

The krypton uses a 640x480 12 pixel pitch with a 40 NETD sensor and 50 Hz refresh rate made by Lynred and a 50mm F1.0 objective thats there top end sensor , like i said about 2 yrs behind everyone else ...

The ace uses a gen 2 640x512 12μm NETD sub 15 with 50mm F0.9 objective with a 60 Hz refresh rate ...and nocpix make there own sensors
And thats without getting onto the updated software and clever algorithms

worlds apart buddy .

Mine is for my foxing rifle , thats its primary use along with NV.

I just use it on the hmr and M3 because i can

It upto you if you think its to much. Personally if lets you shoot more how can it be to much.

Thermal is a tool that can be utilized on all rifles and all calibers, if it helps get the job done then thats all that matters💥👍

👆 this ... thermal is just another tool in the box , how you decide to use it is your call .
Nobody else knows your shooting situation therefore cant really tell you how it should be applied, personally after reading some your posts and how you approach your pest controlling . It could be a great asset . But ultimately only you will know for sure , and obviously if its a tool that would pay for itself in a monetary and time value .
Hopefully that makes some kind of sense .
