IT query, weird laptop screen behaviour?

Ok so this is now fixed, thanx for all the help guys. It was the old laptop screen.
Once I had fitted a new screen it is working fine again, no thin lines at the top of the screen, no losing the display when plugging in the mains, no switching from 60hz to 144hz randomly, its all working again as it should.
Watched a few YT videos on how to do it, and changing the screen, although scary, was actually quite easy.
Just be careful when ordering a new screen as theres a few different versions, mine needed the 40 pin one, some are 30 pin and the connector on mine was 10cm from the side, some have the connector in other places, (so the connector lead may not reach!)....so just double check, and note the ID/Ref/Model no' on the old screen, before ordering a new one.
Also make sure to get all the old sticky gunk and old sticky pads/strips off the screen frame, from the old sticky pads, and I bought some new sticky pads to hold the new screen in place.
So I'm a happy bunny again.
Cheers
