Always like to carry a foot operated pump in the car but being honest all the pumps I have had of late have been poor quality and don't last five minutes (not literally). Can anyone recommend something decent that will last as try as I might all I can find is the aforementioned. Price is not an issue within reason and any suggestions or links would be really appreciated, many thanks.

I have found that the very best foot operated pump,,,, plugs into the cigar lighter socket!

I've got one of these which has been brilliant 👍

I am with you about the manual thing, you can do the tyres without starting the car etc., I have a topeak bike track pump I do my motorcycles with too.

Anyhow, the Michelin (branded) double cylinder one I have has lasted quite well, very stable with a wide foot platform, think It may be a generic though as others look very similar out there, a modern hazard I find.

Or you could get on the bay and buy a real proper oldie by Shrader / Kismet or the like, new leather seal, hose and PCL end and good for another 50 years, usually a good number on there, often cheap as.

I have had this discussion elsewhere. I bet by the time you have the electric pump out unwound the cable plugged it into the 12 port and connected the hose to the tyre valve I will have pumped up my tyre with my foot pump.

My foot pump is about 40 years old.

I used a Michelin single barreled one for many years before it gave up...

I bought one of these and it is a brilliant bit of kit. We have large vehicles and large tyres. This will top up all 4 tyres on my land rover on less than half a charge. USB C charging. Set the pressure and it automically switches off when the tyre is at pressure. Easy to use and I have done about 30 full fills without failure.

Exactly mate and also don't forget being able to keep all the windows and doors shut when its pissing down and no fragile electrical cable that can easily get damaged, old school even if its not 1978 has its place :).

All these people telling you your out of date getting a plug in compressor , they're out of date 😂 😂, get a battery one, no plugging in to a ciggarette/auxillary plug, no cable that doesn't reach both sides of the car unelss you thread it through the door that side , no more cable that never winds up properly when you want to put it away into that stupid sized hole by the inflator cable , I've got one of the Ring compressors as well , never use it anymore , I have Makita batteries so I bought a Makita one , but there are others, best tyre inflator I've ever used (y)😂

Bit old skool like the OP, I have a modern small tyre compressor, via cigarette lighter socket (12v) but also keep an old stylee foot pump in the car tool box in the boot, just in case......Belt n braces like innit.....(y)
