Hi guys , any ideas on this . I have a spring action .177 air rifle it’s shooting up and down but in a line which means the windage is fine but up and down is inconsistent. The grouping would be a group of 3 inches at 10 meters . I change three scopes and the same result.

Couple things could be amiss.

Has it only just started doing it? Or have you not managed to get it to group properly yet at all?

If the first one. Make sure everything it bolted in tightly, stock, barrel, cylinder, scope, mount etc (with the arrester screw if it has one)

If the second option. Make sure all that above is good ^ and change to different pellets to see which group the best. You'd be amazed by how much a change of pellet type makes the difference.

Also, hold sensitivity on springers can make a big difference if you are too tight with holding it.

Much experience with a springer ? Could well be down to inconsistent hold ( or, if you use a rest, forend placement). If you shoot a spring gun, all needs be perfect( repeated) in hold execution/ stock & rest placement...'tis why so many shoot PCPs, me thinks....they hate gettin' punished for being lax?
Aside forend placement, the buttstock needs nestling into your shoulder with same pressure each time, hand grip on stock with trigger hand same each time, touch of cheek on cheek piece same each time ( all of these very light) to get your accuracy.

I have 2 other 22 spring action and they a fine I am shooting off a cleaning vice . This air rifle is a gammo , I bought if from a RFD he said it was his own brilliant for squirrelling but if a fire 4 rounds at a golf ball at 10 meters I can hit it twice . I am using using a sterling 3x9 40 all screwed down and arrow straight

Spring or Ram ? How's the trigger pull ?...(guess at release moment ?) An untuned Gamo trigger is a travesty, on a good day. Put up a trig pic, if you can.
Desist on golf balls, too, bro...those fekkers return fire !!!

Oh dear, stop shooting golf balls at close range as the pellet will bounce back as fast as it went & one day hit you in the face......!
