Hi I have a impact m4 having loads of issues with accuracy I can have 4 to 5 shots through the same hole then get flyers I have tried different pellets and fitted a carbon barrel liner and still getting flyers I have just invested in a harmonic barrel tuner which i will try at the weekend I'm using jsb heavy diablos 10.34 grain

Welcome to the forum Dan and, to the weird and wonderful experience of FX ownership. I’ve had ongoing issues with a .22 M4 - fully detailed here https://airgunforums.co.uk/threads/new-fx-impact-m4-today.107818/post-2106803

Since buying mine, I’ve heard of so many people (both on here and at my club) having bought these guns, only to return them days later. From what you say, it seems you’ve done a lot to mitigate the Impact’s known wandering POI. Have you chrono’d the gun? What sort of spread (min fps to max fps) are you getting. If it’s less than 20 over a magazine it shouldn’t be an issue but, if the spread is a lot more, I’d just return it to the RFD you bought it from, get your money back and buy something less troublesome. By the way, I p/ex’d an M3 for my M4, it took ages to get it sorted but, eventually, it worked beautifully - wished I’d never sold it. Best of luck.

Not sure this may help with your M4 as mine it’s an M3 but maybe worth considering

See the thread below

Thanks for the replys I'm taking it out again Friday to see if the harmonic tuner does anything to cure the problem if not I'll be sending it back to be repaired or refunded wish now I had bought an agt vixen or a daystate for the money spent there not all that good just glad I still have my Faithfull old hw100 that has had a hard life was in a house fire soaked and left in the loft for 6 years and that is lazer accurate still like mikey b says if I hadn't gone crazy at saber tactical I wouldn't be that bothered

I had exact same issue. I installed 6 g hammer weight, but i had to play with reg pressure and dwell valve adjustment. I been test and working few months now on with my M4. Fx they setup OEMsetting on reg for 55 but thats not enough for heavyes. With jsb 8.44 i had perfect POI at 40m but not with heavyes. With heavyes 10.3 i had 5-8 pellet on pellet then sudden just got flyes then back again pellet on pellet few shots only.
Finally reg pressure58-60 but the most important thing which solved this issue:i fitted barrel band.
The barrel inside the linerer if have carbon sleeve is good but not enough.. because the liner even dasnt move with heavy pellets but the shroud moves..!! If shroud moves even 0.2mm then at 40m will gives you flyes. This because of air turbulence when the pellet leave the moderator moves the center line.Sometimes the flyes is in same hole if you shot again.Right..? So fit one barrel band and will he hole in hole 40m and at 50 i have now max 1-2cm flyes only.I did aprox over 400 shots on same day and perfect now. Hope this help

From my experience with a mk3 with the same issue. Cheapest, replace the front barrel support 'O' ring with a 90 shore version, bs113 from memory. Fit the carbon liner. Replace the front barrel support block with the clamp version if it's not already fitted. Try one at a time or all three and see where you get if you don't take it back.

John.

So on my maverick I have shimmed the gap between the shroud and the body of the rifle this helped can be done with PTFE plumbing washer or o rings I got an extended saber top rail luckily second hand fitted a carbon barrel sleeve and TWO of the top rail support clips it is bang on now I never indexed the barrel.

My maverick bodging .
Barrel shim . Arca rail barrel support clips .
Works well even when I have to put the rifle away just by holding the barrel and it gets biffed about when in the front of the car when hunting. Zero is SOLID now .

I changed mine to a hft500 barrel and is now pellet on pellet and not pellet fussy
Mine is fac for hunting so it's slugs . But it's very accurate with heavy pellets.
It would not have taken much work by FX to engineer a more robust solution for the barrel liner set up . I'm happy with it now but the bodging should have been unnecessary, I do like a good simple bodge though.

Watched Jefsky video on his M4 micro new barrel fitted and much better accuracy, be interesting to see his fix on his fx liner problems!

At some point I will change the PTFE washer between shroud with o rings id like to find or have someone make spacer supports to go around the carbon barrel sleeve and in the shroud. .
