I am thinking about getting an immersive optics type scope for HFT (SWEFTA).
Has anybody else tried this type of scope and the pros and cons?

I have their 14x50. Big beast, massive field of view. Heavier than it looks. Even with the eye rubber, you still need your eyelashes brushing, or almost brushing the lens. No idea about using it for HFT, but good for everything I've used it for, including low light.
You might want to consider their Pro series with some eye relief

I have the 10x24 which I’m eventually hoping to use for standing. Really good scope, super clear and huge FOV. Very lightweight also (main selling factor for me). Love the reticle too.

But yeah, you need to be close to the ocular. I’ve heard the smaller objectives are more popular with HFT shooters as better DOF but this is out of my knowledge range.

Thanks, I have been using a Hawke scope with a rubber extension eye cup jobbie, so am used to my eye touching the scope. Just need to do suitable research as we only use a maximum of 12 mag, and need to get something of equal mag.

I tried the 10x40 and the 10x24 but couldn’t get the depth of field I liked so switched back to a standard scope, not sure on the rules in swefta but if you can adjust parallax between lanes then it’s worth a go. For us shooting ukahft rules the scope can’t be touched once you have taken your first shot so it wasn’t any good for me personally.

I've got an Immersive Pro with 85mm eye relief. It's superb, so good, I'm thinking of getting another and selling my Lightstream FFP. I don't know how well it would suit HFT though, I'd have thought a variable zoom might be an advantage?

IO only do 5, 10 and 14x. However, the MTC version is 12x and I believe it’s made by IO (don’t quote me on this though!)

Was just looking up where you are from PF but Wareham is a bit too far for me to meet to have a demo. If you are in the (East) Midlands, let me know.

The problem is they have too much depth of field so you can't range-find by the amount of blur.
You need the 10x which has very short eye relief and the lens is almost tickling your eyeball.

I love the 5x30 Pro as a short-range hunting scope but I'd use a conventional scope for HFT.

I have the 10x40, like others have said huge field of view and very clear. I shoot HFT and don’t know if I’d consider it tbh, no half mildots for one, but I will give it a go one day. I like zero eye relief scopes and run Hawke Airmax touch 3-12x32 currently and find the reticle much finer than the one on the IO.

The MTC version is exactly the same scope. I have a cousin who was production manager at Daystate when it was released. MTC are a sub brand of Daystate.

Does anybody shoot the scope with specs? Looks good, but not to sure it will work with me wearing specs?

I can use mine 14x 50 with or without glasses (variofocals),don’t use the rubber eye piece though.
