So new pellet catcher, had the misses shoot a few into it and the sand bang to compare while I sat at the top, you hear a fart from the mod and the impact on the card of the target. It still makes me paranoid with neighbours but I honestly don't think its possible to be quieter no matter what I change I can't make the impact of the target card/paper any quieter
I have stapled different materials to the roof loose which can me changed out when needed plus a slab and pillow behind that, have also tried to make it a bit weather proof with some left over dpm I had.

You can try plumbers duct seal, only noise I get from mine is the pellet braking through the paper target suspended, taught a little in front of it.
Only issue is occasionally cleaning out the duct seal
Very nicely tidy pellet trap though, I like the water proofing

I have made one with plumbers putty before and a couple with lead, plus the ton bag off sand back stop , they are all pretty quiet. Think after this one I have realised I can't get quieter the target card itself is always going to make a pop, no matter what I do behind.
Doubt any neighbours notice I am just wired for paranoia
