I bet y'all's wives would blow a gasket...

Right On ! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘bonus points for the RD. Thanx, just an R&R/ re - channel on an older stock I had... off an old Husqvarna... can't wait to see what the Linseed brings out, then burn some powder.
Chris, I am intrigued by your mention of Husqvarna as my only experience with that brand is chainsaws, and that definitely is not from a saw. By the way, it looks a lovely piece of timber.

the name Husqvarna is still avaialable on a couple of road bikes now, but its one of the names owned by the corporation that are KTM which is up to its eyeballs in debt and on the brink of bankruptcy! ๐Ÿ™„

Once striped of the factory varnish , yeah, the grain was a nice surprise.๐Ÿ‘ Husky's been makin' rifles for quite sometime - they supplied the Mausers model 1896 to the Swedish govt. forces & post WW II, ( maybe sooner) got into sporter rifles, on Mauser type actions. I think this piece of timber came off a ' 60s vintage rifle. Sako & Tikka, from up north too, build some nice " bang sticks".

I know a guy who is mad for motorbikes, he IS single mind, no way is he getting a woman, his house is filled with bits of bikes, and I mean FILLED! last time I visited him there were parts of bikes in both the sink and oven as well as littered in every room of the house, including the stairs, he even assembled a bike in the bedroom and then brought it down the stairs

They used to make rifles and shot gun as well as m/bikes,sewing machines and chain saws,
When did Husqvarna stop making rifles?

Their final hunting rifle, the 1900-series, was introduced in 1967; it would be produced for twenty more years, until 1989. The motorcycle division was sold to Cagiva in 1986, where it continues to thrive to this day. In 1997, the Husqvarna-branded sewing machines were sold off as well.

I'm just about to getting the last of the oil.on a shotgun stock & inletting a schnable sporter stock for a '42 vintage, Steyr built '98 8x57JS....she's gonna be an iron sighted wild boar thumper.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜ I get the inletting dialed in, time for some oil & then we'll see how the sights regulate to some 196 grain Norma round noses.
Whatโ€™s wrong with that, itโ€™s tidy and clean isnโ€™t it?

Husqvarna took over the manufacture of all Swedish bolt-action small arms in the late 1930's. They also converted around 100,00 m96 rifles to the shorter m38 model, and post-war produced a wide range of very highly-regarded bolt-action rifles - much sought after in the USA and Canada for their fine craftsmanship - there is even a Husqvarna collectors association.
