Happily enjoying myself at the range when the front screw fell out from the trigger guard !

Now I can not get it to screw back in , this is as deep as it sits

Any advice on how to get it back in is greatly appreciated .
Also is it ok to continue to use until I can get it screwed in properly ?

Cheers

Loosen the front stock screw and the rear trigger guard screw, stock should then have a slight backward, forward motion and you should find then that the front trigger guard screw will drop in to where it should be.
Get the screws all sorted before you use it.

If you continue to use the rifle, you will be putting a lot of strain on the trigger frame screw which is only M4 when you cock the rifle. Take the action out of the stock and take a look where the screw goes into. The thread which is M7 x 1mm pitch may need clearing out, use a plug tap for this. Clean the bolt and inspect the thread and if it looks damaged then replace it..

Lesson learned , members here suggested on another thread that I should nip all the screws up as soon as I got it but I did not get round to doing it I was too eager to shoot it.
All tightened up now though 👍

I had the same thing on my HW95. The indent plug thingy hadn't been fitted in the rear scope mount either which caused the whole thing to slide backwards. Took me a while to realise as well I thought my eyes were playing up in the sun and messing with my focus.

My solution was threadlock cement (the milder blue one) on any loose screws and a Sportsmatch one piece anti-vibration mount.

One of the trigger guard screws can be left out. I can't remember which but threadlock to both seems better.
