As stated what would be your caliber of choice for a FAC / fullpower HW90? .22 or .25?

.22 for sure,as it’s only going to be 18 ft lbs maximum and you can use pellets up to 24 grains if you want .25 weights,or better at about 16-18 grains 670-700 fps.
"only going to be 18ft lbs maximum".
mine is at 20ft lbs I did take it up to 23ft lbs and needed an arm like popeye to cock it. however after extensive testing I found the factory parachute seal to be the achillies heel of the 90 when it comes to power. Swap the seal for a vortek or aussie and you will see the difference on the chrono.
And yes go for the 22 😎

I bought a new .22 HW90 from AOA 6/23. I was surprised to find that ram set at 18.2b as my first HW90 (5/19; .177) was set at more than 24b and a ba$tid to cock and tooth shaking to shoot. (This was just before much needed, shoulder reconstruction and was nearly unusable.)

The .22 runs 19.5fpe and 20.5fpe with a variety of pellets and is a piece of cake to use. I never messed with that ram. They got it right for me. Maybe if my shoulder was better, I would jack it up.

I don't know if Weihrauch is systematically setting rams lower on the FAC or if it was the luck of the draw.

19.5 - 20.5 ft lbs seems to be the sweet spot as previously mentioned my one is at 20ft lbs with a 14.66 grn FTT and has the same manners as a sub 12.

A hw90 with a grean Ausie seal or a britseals set to 20 ftlb in .22 or .25 will be fine youl have to decide what ballistics you require the standard HW seals tend to burst or melt

With a good seal and the ram bumped to 25-26b the .25 might be a corker. Generally, I see .25 as pcp territory. I vote .22; but that is for an old man with busted shoulders.
