There is actually no limit on the amount of rifles you can own !! But with rifles you have to justify why you need them, shotguns you dont have to justify, but normally after 11 guns you will have to start having better security measures in place i.e alarms/cctv

Shotguns are viewed as particular dangerous firearms here and require separate permits, a lot harder to obtain then for a rifle.
