Huma. Lane or...?

I am at the point of adding a regulator to my unregulated early Brocock Compatto in .22.
My 'Wanted' ad for a reg showed up nothing so I am prepared to buy new.
The question is, which is best or are they much the same? Real world experiences are valued if available.

I have a Brocock Compatto in 22 and personally i wouldnt bother with a reg for it . With the harper sling shot its quite consistent for an unregged gun . I fill mine to 180 bar shoot about 70 pellets then refill .
If i was going to reg it then i would use a huma purely because thats what the Compatto target uses

I think I'd agree with the suggestion of the Huma

But I'd also suggest that you may need more than just a reg as other parts may need changing too, so worth researching that

I agree with P8X , unfortunately its not just plug and play theres more to installing a reg . I considered it on mine but decided i was happy the way it is and theres less to go wrong with it without a reg

I’d personally go for a Lane, because I prefer them and to Huma, you also get the other items you need such as a drill for the TP, replacement hammer and valve springs if they’re required, most importantly they come with really extensive instructions on how to install it and set it up. But in all honesty, if it was mine I’d keep it as it is.

I dont really think it needs a reg . If you did want to go down the reg route it might be easier buying a compatto target and not have to do any of the work . Admittedly to some people its not the cost but the fun of tinkering with them . Who doesnt like taking a gun apart

Subjectively better quality! CNC machined, doesn’t necessarily mean a thing. Weihrauch’ use to be made on manual lathes and milling machines, now they’re made using CNC, but ask anyone that knows, the older guns are better quality. I’m not sure Lane doesn’t use CNC anyway.

Lane are a better design (not that silly little disc) and better quality components.

I would imagine he does use CNC otherwise he wouldn't be able to offer the variety he does at the price they are sold at.

I've been putting off the purchase of a Lane reg for my .22 Compatto having been distracted by other toys! But it really is on the to do list, I've managed with rifle unregulated for years but it now has a Zulus on it so having told the Zulus the height of the scope above barrel, the ballistic coefficient of the pellet, my inside leg measurement, set the gyro scope and the pellets are travelling at X feet per second the bit that lets it down is the spread.
Previously I've said I have no preference between Huma and Lane but having recently ordered and waited and then waited some more for a R10 reg to turn up from Huma and paid the postage and import duty.... There's no point! I'll just be buying from Lane in future, it'll be cheaper without the duty and get here quicker.

Having spent a career in engineering, manual and CNC milling and turning amongst many other things and finishing up in inspection I can tell you manual or CNC is irrelevant! Inspection / Quality control and the finished product you receive is what matters. Having said that, what makes you think Lane regs aren't CNC'd they've all looked very consistent to me?
