How much financial pain am I potentially looking at?

I know very little about soccer, my interest in the game pretty much ended when I finished my 8 year playing career at the age of 14 many, many decades ago after missing a sudden death penalty that cost our local team a free trip for a week to a tournament in the Butlins holiday camp.

Out of the blue some years ago my youngest son for some unknown reason became a passionate supporter of Crystal Palace, we have since learned to use their latest results as a barometer of how his mood will be for the foreseeable. This has had the knock on effect that of actually altering both my own and my wife's moods after each match as if we didn't already have enough to deal with in life.

Anyway, despite living in the wilds of rural Ireland, I am never the less a man with considerable enough contacts to have been put in touch with a man, who knows a man, who can provide tickets or a ticket to the upcoming Cup final involving the aforementioned Crystal Palace.

At an educated guess I'm thinking he's most likely a ticket tout. I'm not going to cast judgement on his chosen choice of profession, I'm assured he is a person who can be trusted on his word and that's good enough for me.

Here is my question, does anyone here know or have a rough idea how much financial pain this ticket is going to cost me?

It's the young lads 21st a week before the final, his time off work, the flight and accommodation are all sorted. (His girlfriend will be going to London with him but no way am I going to deprive a genuine fan a ticket by paying for her to watch something she has no interest whatsoever in.)

My contact told me he won't have a definite price until one week before the game which is understandable.

Anyone here have any idea how much I can realistically be expected to pay?

I thought google might come up with some typical pricing mark-ups by touts for similar level matches but nobody seems to be reporting anything. I can see why you're stumped.

Depends on demand I’m afraid, you may get away with about £120/£150 a ticket ….. or end up paying £500/£600 + 😳
I couldn’t make the final about 6 years ago (Chelsea). as my lad was unable to get leave … a tout offered me £500 for the pair!

Big game and day for the those fans who won't know when the next opportunity arises. I'd suggest at least a couple of hundred quid, but more likely close to 500. All depends on demand. Hope that's not the case and u get the tickets needed

I was thinking £500 minimum because the day I rang the guy he had sold just 2 tickets for the Liverpool game (that they later won to secure the title) for £1300.

I haven't a clue about these things to be honest, I've attended some huge sporting events and was never asked for more than the face value of the ticket. Having said that most everyone I know that follows football here would be Liverpool fans so I know there would have been outrageous demand for tickets to witness them win the Premiership, I know a couple of lads that only go see them if they are playing in a big European final but that's just basically them displaying the vulgarity of their wealth more than anything sporting.

Delighted to have secured a ticket for him for 353 euro, as you said they mightn't make another final for a long while if ever so should be the experience of a lifetime for him.
