How much better is a Steyr than, say ...a Weihrauch or Air Arms?

Looking for real life experience please - rather than "bloke on YouTube/Arsebook/Twatter says xyz"

Is a Steyr a magical enough purchase and ownership experience that is eclipses an HW100 or an Ultimate Sporter?

With or without the automatic shot system... what's the uplift, if any, over the German / British stuff?

Bloke down the range I go to had his grandson with him. The kid was making 20p holes at 40yds (I think) from a single magazine with the Pro X rested on its bipod. Think the kid was about 10.
That tells me a lot about the rifle, n maybe the kid as well.

Steyr are in a completely different league to anything produced by AA and HW
Quality in abundance

In my opinion anyway and I've had pcp's from them all

I owned a HFT500 and a Steyr LG110 at the same time. The HFT500 never got a look in. The Steyr did everything so much better

The true Steyr target guns are certainly better built than the bog standard quality airguns you mentioned, and are more accurate due to the nature of the beast.. IE True target guns and not general purpose sporters..

But probably not as much a difference as you think and it still takes a very experienced/good shooter to see a big difference

The multi shots I would suggest are better built certainly, but no more accurate than the Air Arms and I am not convinced that much more accurate than a decent HW100 with a good shooter

Only my opinion but I have owned multiple examples of all the current Steyr models and likewise the AA/HW

Having owned all 3 the steyr has the edge in build quality and fun factor as you just can't beat the multishot madness of popping off 5 to 10 rounds like you're having a mad minute at the Marne. In terms of accuracy there is no real noticeable difference in my experience, all 3 brands will be very accurate. In short, the multishot steyr is just more fun than the others, only you can decide if it is worth the extra beer tokens....

Look no further than the above answer 👌

As opposed to "bloke on AGF says xyz"..... :)
Never owned a Steyr, but did shoot one of their pistols once, and it was amazing.
I think in life generally you tend to get what you pay for.
But, a shit shot will still be a shit shot no matter what gun they have.
And, likewise a really good shot will still be a really good shot with an average gun.
We (the soft squidgy bit pulling the trigger) will have more affect on accuracy than anything else.

I have an older LG110 that I sold my hft500 to get. To be honest, I preferred the 500.

I've had loads of PCP's & I've had two Steyr Hunter 5A on the trot...my new scout version is even better ...if you can spare the cash I'd strongly advise you buy one.
The engineering in them is different level...

That is a corker of a HFT500, I'll give you that. I was only thinking of that rifle, yesterday. I do miss it
If you ever think of moving it on, please drop me a PM, so I can get a wanted ad placed ;)

I think the time that the HFT500, was away from me, at Ratworks, meant I got too used to the LG110

Yeah I'm not totally sure on that,

A good friend of mine on here has a Steyr challenge and we have had many conversations on this,

I wouldn't swap my particular hft500 for a Steyr at this moment in time. It doesn't do anything substantially better imo,

The adjustability is great, the stabiliser works well - if you like stabilisers, I find them too dead and numb feeling,

I'm not totally sold on the Steyr barrels, they can be fussy.

I'm not totallu sold on temp shift, many a hft comp I have heard of temperature shift from Steyr owners..

Are they well made and decently priced for what you get - yes

Are they the best thing since sliced bread and make you a better shooter - No

In multishot. The Steyr is leagues above. How many hunting 5’s come up for sale?
Those who do part with them normally regret the decision

I’ve currently got a steyr LG110 in .22, a hw100 in .22 and a hw101 in .22.

Build quality on the steyr is lovely, trigger is fantastic, and for me that’s where it stops. The hw will group the same at 45yds and for me personally the hw balances better on the positional shots, I’m on about for hft here. They’re both as consistent and accurate as each other. I need to tweak my steyr a tad, shorten the length of pull and make a different hamster for it before I make any decision on it. For me if the hw100 had the steyr trigger I don’t think I’d have bought the steyr. Not that the hw100 trigger is bad at all.

I think its probably the trigger, that makes me like Steyr so much

I agree its a close call with the HFT500,
Stock adjustability on the HFT500 is probably better, but the lower COG of the Steyr, gives them a bit of an edge

No matter how good you get the trigger on the HFT500, it won't come near the Steyr trigger

My LG110 would absolutely be the last gun I will ever sell. The Prosport will be a close second. What @BrettMRC says above is really what it's all about. I like to think I am slightly above average, and I shoot my Steyr better than I have ever shot anything in my life.
