How many of us have done this? A Dave Allen story.

Dave Allen was one of my favourite comedians. Remember wathhing him with my father. Now the announcers have to warn the listeners that the content is dated and reflects attitudes of the time (Sorry not the right phrase for this video ). Modern society has lost its sense of humour.

Whereas we should be issuing a warning that says "if you're too stupid to differentiate humour from reality, then look away now..."

A really nice genuine bloke. Met him after he did a gig in Newcastle in the late 80s.
He just told anyone wanting to get an autograph to stay seated at the end of the show.
About 20 or so stayed back, he asked all our names and what we did, etc.
He chatted with us for ages; when I had to leave after about 30-40 mins.to catch the last train, he stepped out of the crowd to thank me for coming to the show & for staying back to meet him, and gave me a handshake.

Some of the modern comedy acts I've seen cannot even hang around for 5 minutes to give out autographs.

Amazing comedian.....

I remember his new 'modern talking' car sketch.... Nearly wet myself :)

Saw him live in Norwich back in the late 70s , great show. Was on stage for about two and a half hours.

He is and always has been, incredibly funny, on the other hand, she is incredibly annoying! Is that what being an influencer is, just an annoying person ?

Possibly October 25th in 87, I was there, someone came in late and Dave gave him a glass of wine after he told of his excuse. He was 3 hours plus on stage and I'm sure they guy next to me was going to require a paramedic, he was gasping for air with laughing. Teacing his kid how to tell the time and driving with gloves on was two of the subject, a night I will never forget.
