How far was your furthest shot?

Today I was out in a permission, it was sunny but quite breezy.

I wasn't there looking for quarry today, it was a set up day of a new scope I got.

At the end I stuck some balloons up along the field I shoot in at 80 yards, 100 yards and 120 yards.

Over the next hour or so I was shooting my HW100 at these from a bipod, it took about 5 shots to get the 80 yarder. 12 shots to get the 100 yarder and 20 shots to get the 120 yarder which required about 24" of wind.

I'm wondering what long range exploits other members have done with the sub 12 airguns?

How far was your furthest shot?​

Probably about 6yd 4inches. I missed the target and hit the garage door!

I shot at a target card at 140 yards on a foggy day, but I think the tiny specs of moisture deflected my pellets as I missed with every shot.

1200 yards with a .308 RPA Quadlite in an AICS chassis.

Scope was a Schmidt Bender PM II FFP.

God I miss those days, when I was in a good job and ammo was cheap!

oh for gods sake ... that's a 90 mile drive for me, but the real tragedy is that it looks like I went past there on a lovely sunny day off to pick up a TX200 last week

Benched - Walked in 10 shots to 90-100 yard card. Got a 2 1/2 inch 5 shot group.

Rifle - fettled.177 HW95k, but with HW 500 mm barrel added. Scope Hawke vantage x 50.

Standing offhand - 80 yards to paint spray can 3 hits, same rifle as above, but using just the open sights.

You can't be a million miles from Worsley HFT club. Well worth going there if you want a bigger place to shoot.

Or atherton, 70 yards indoors. Very nice.

I once put a piece of a4 out at 150 yards fired 10 shots out at it
Went and checked and only 1 hole
To this day I think it was still the most accurate sub 12 gun I’ve owned with 10 through 1 pellet size hole at 150 yards

I might be heading there at the end of the week but doubt I'll be going at anything that far away.

Greyhound down the road (quite a bit down) is probably the furthest I've shot at targets.

IIRC I rangefinded (rangefound?) to about 70-something yards way out at the back but can't say I was consistent.

Hit the base of a coke can at roughly 40 yards with a webley tempest on the second shot, felt like id hit a 1000 yard bullseye

I found I could hit a tin can fairly consistently at 100 metres (109 yds) with a sub 12 .177. Standard lightweight diabolos.

I've not been to Worsley as a memeber, I shot comps there years back. I would just rock up on a Sunday and see what the score is.
