Well how disappointed can you be with a manufacturer. Brand new out of the box Airmaks Krait lite. Removed the shroud so I could put a few barrel cleaning felts through it and the adaptor into the action came with it 🙄 No major drama I know, just screw it back in with a rubber glove on to get some purchase and not overtighten. A few shots over the chrono, all good, then second magazine decides to drop a pellet back into the pellet probe housing 🤬 Again not a major drama, but have to bugger about removing the stock and side plate to remove it. Let's hope it shoots straight.

John.

I thought these newer mags stopped the pellets from falling backwards?

What adapter are you talking about?

Hi,

Do you mean the silver collar that connects the shroud and front block? When you say "adapter"

I have the same rifle & it's never missed a beat!.. shooting like a laser _ I've never needed to clean the barrel.
I think messing about when all is good is a bad thing.

I don’t understand how a pellet can drop back from a magazine. Is the probe piercing the pellet and bringing it back?? Sounds like a breech/mag alignment issue??

The anti double feed system used a pin to stop the rotor advancing the next pellet in the magazine until the last one had been fired, unfortunately we found some pellets were losing too much spring tension from the rotor thanks to the ADF pin and so we removed the system on all guns some time ago, to ensure rotor tension stayed, if this rifle still has the older silver connecting collar for the shroud it may still have the ADF pin, hence my clarification about the "adapter" mentioned

Those silver collars were not glued into the block because they must be removed during a service to access an O ring sealing a machining hole plug, so if that is the "adapter" in question it was doing as designed by coming off with the shroud

Yes, that's the one. The shroud was rattling when I removed it, thought it might have been a loose baffle at first but no, this collar that slides over the barrel & screws into the block.

The way people talk about these guns you would think they were bullet proof. Thanks for sharing I think I will avoid buying one 👍🏻

Apologies for the rattle on the shroud, the collars are normally pretty good at staying in place, have you checked to see if it has the ADF Pin? If so I would highly recommend disabling it, then you shouldnt get any issues going forward

It’s unfortunate when people have issues, I’ve had some issues with several guns I’ve had over the years.
The BRK ghost was notorious for pellets falling back into the action as I experienced myself.

This Krait standard I have at the moment though is simply sublime. Never missed a beat and quite often gets me shouted at down the range when I’m dropping .177 pellets through a 6mm hole and ringing the bell behind that hole at 40m using JSB Short.

As with anything you’ll hear good and bad things but the bad things tend to get the most attention.

My 177 mag's dont have this issue, the pellet's are held in by spring tension , i tried tapping the mag upside down to see if pellets fall out but no they stay put.
