Not the best pics, plus I cast a bit of shadow, but here’s what it looks like in a bit more detail both sides. That's some nice timber.More pics !
Do you think they are worth nearly £170 more than a new HW35E (Pellpax prices)?Picked up my 35 special edition this afternoon (.22, number 15). Light’s fading fast for decent pictures, so a teaser will have to suffice for now. Despite the price over the standard 35e, I’m happy…

It’ll come out similar all over to the contrast (maybe a little less) you made the butt with a couple more coats of oil, when I get round to it. It’s not too bad for a mass-production factory finish, though.

Worth? Rationally no, of course not. I bought a new (.177) 35e last year - thankfully it also has a cracking stock - and have been doing a lot of direct comparison today. Ok, I guess HW would possibly have increased unit costs for making these new edition stocks as it’s (ultimately) a smaller batch, plus the sling is definitely high quality and the tin sign is a nice-to-have. So their costs are a little higher.Do you think they are worth nearly £170 more than a new HW35E (Pellpax prices)?
Thanks for the honest feedback, enjoy.Worth? Rationally no, of course not. Then again for a lot of people it’s heart over head sometimes. Me included. Am I happy I paid £625? Not sure I’d say happy, but equally I’m not regretting it. Maybe if the wood was plainer I would be slightly niggled.
Here’s a photo of the 3 other ones Broadway Gunroom were sent. I was definitely the lucky one there…

I also wouldn’t be surprised if these sell out in the UK. 200 is a fairly small number; they have an iconic following and this edition seems to be acknowledging the ethos of the original gun more than just putting a coloured stock on. Certainly in the case of mine the quality is there. It’s not run in yet but is exceptionally smooth to cock and shoot (which yes you should expect really). Ok it has the new shorter barrel length, but it does have the magic of the originals when it comes to handling. Price is subjective of course. £104 of what I paid goes to our government in VAT. Would I want to run and maintain a factory, cover materials costs, R&D, pay wages, ship and let the importer and then the retailer take their cut all from the remaining £520? Probably not. Thanks for the honest feedback, enjoy.
All three of those will pop with a bit of work, but yours is on a different level mate. Got the nod on one if i want it. I'm just putting off the inevitable really.Worth?
