Hills EC-3000 (Bargain i think)

Yes, but ask yourself do you need a 300 bar fill when you can top it up any time you like. Temerature kills all compressors because the piston rings are O rings, hard O rings but still O rings.
My new gun is the AGT Vixen that has a small bottle with 300 bar fill pressure
I topped it up last night and the dive bottle topped out at 270 bar so is only going to get lower with every fill? which then means i get a loss in shot count?
My thinking was, seeing the Vixen is 300 bar i could just top up the dive bottle back to 300 bar pretty easy and quickly with the compressor or am i missing something?

If you want a 300 bar fill on a rifle why not fill direct from the compressor and save the heat build. You won't get a 300 bar fill on the gun from a 300 bar bottle anyway. The pressure can only equalise and you will lower the pressure in the giver as soon as you open the valve.

Thanks Gents, was hoping to try and work out the manufacturer date but think i will contact Ben at Hills again to confirm from serial number.
Going by the panel run time indicator mine has been used for less than an hour, but my written record shows 1hr 15mins

Nic
Sorry, I feel like a first class 🔔end my frame is black. I did say it's got under an hour on though so I obviously haven't spent much time looking at it.🤣

An EC-300 can never make economic sense for an individual - but I love mine! It is glorious knowing you don't have to shoot off to the dive shop - park (!!!) and heave your bottle about at both ends! I pump my vixen up to 300 bar straight from the compressor and refill my 7 litre bottle to 275 or 280 to top up my Revere from the bottle - just a little bit quicker than kicking of the EC - works for me!

Ahh yes but at the range or out and about how would i power it? Thats why it seemed a good idea

But you won't get a 300 bar fill from a 300 bar bottle anyway. So why not fill the bottle to 270 and top the gun up in the field to what ever that will give you. I'll do you some figures later to illustrate what I mean.

@Shaggy, done some figures for you using @GPConway's superb PCP Fills app

Here's a screen shot of the app showing a fill from a 300 bar bottle to a 250cc rifle using a a 5cc volume whip

Then you get 269, 255, ..........................

I ordered my Nomad back on the day suggestions where being made of the first pandemic lockdown and it has served me well since then. However when (not if) the Nomad goes bang, I'll be joining the Hills Club

I abort the fill when it gets to 65C. Leave it to cool for at least 30 minutes. Also I ain't keen on restarting under load.
I almost jumped at a deal on the Hill EC3000 then found out they have the Evo, probably why there are all deals at the moment on Hill 1's
Like that they have now sorted out the restart under pressure with the Evo, not a problem if your there to relive the pressure before a cooling restart, and it's always a good idea to be around when charging, but I know I'll be in the garage with it charging and forget to de-pressure it on pause because I'm busy doing something else :)

My EC 3000 arrived today, fantastic service as I only ordered it on Sunday afternoon.
Item was brand new as described and still sealed in its box.
First impressions are great, really quiet and very quick to fill my rifles.
Build quality is as expected, absolutely brilliant.
Here's to many years of trouble free filling.
Thanks to @Nic-FX for the heads up on the eBay deal.
