I'm new here and asking what gun oil is best for my HW97K stainless and my HW100KT black should I use 3 in1 or something more specialised?
 
Hi reohn22. Hello and welcome. For a general wipe over the metalwork with an oily rag, 3 in 1 will be fine. There are others, balistol, browning legia etc etc,and im sure you will end up trying some, but nothing wrong with 3 in 1, I've used it for years. Hope this helps.

3-in-1 oil works but it will make your rifles (and hands) smell like an old bicycle.

Renaissance Wax is better... and guns will resist finger marks when being handled.

I thought 3in1 would be OK but thought I'd ask first,not had an airgun for 50 years and thought maybe things have changed.Anyway I'm enjoying the sport and thanks for the advice,no doubt I'll be asking the collective forum brains when I need some more advice.

That's something I would never had thought of,thanks for the heads up.
BTW I probably smell worse than an old bicycle,I'm and old man so probably smell of piss and biscuits anyway
 
Welcome, I use Napier YP90, it was bought for me so use it.
Don't like ballistol as it stinks horrible.
