My uncle had one back in Africa.
Been raking through the gun racks and cases over the last week , had this out today for a wipe down and quick plink , big grin factor
It’s had me looking at the Umarex PSG1 though (also on sale recently )

Wow just wow, that is indeed a very nice rifle. Why does everyone else have better stuff than me!?Made under license for Umarex by WE Airsoft , stamped steel body and steel barrel , select fire gas operated , big heavy and loud and thumps heavy BB very nicely across the garden . I’ve fitted this one with genuine 1980’s era Stock , handguard and pistol grip and period leather sling , took a little modification to get the furniture on there but I’m very happy how it turned out, I have a genuine 80’s Stanag claw mount on the way but finding an original scope is looking like a no go , very sought after and very very expensive .
I will at some stage weather in the metal work to match the furniture for that vintage vibe

A full day on the range and I was making excuses not to pull the trigger, barrel heavy as well. Now I'm old and I want on its £1850.00 for a deactivated one!
A minor super nerd update , the original 1980’s PSG1 deployment package came with what is now probably one of the rarest pieces for (real steel) clone builders to find , the LOGA systems mini tripod , circled here -
