Hi All,
I'm a new owner of a Reximex Myth .22 in Walnut and have done several tests as part of the first setup/config.
One of these was fps/me testing and I found that the Myth was down from what was expected across a range of different pellet types and weights. I had read ft lbs should be in the mid-11 range and I have only seen in the 9 - 10 range so far.
I have seen some threads about checking adjustments of various components on PCP's in general. Still, I am looking to understand what sort of adjustment is possible with Reximex PCP's, in particular the Myth. I came across "hammer adjustment" and do not understand this. Can anyone shed any light on what this is, and how it can be done? (specifically for the Reximex)

I think you are talking about tuning here,- I suggest you invite responses by PM as some folk get a bit sensitive about publicising this subject.
There is lots of web advice- try Airguns of Arizona website for good articles about PCP adjustments first.

Bob,

Assuming you’re in the UK and sub 12, the hammer adjuster on your rifle is to tune down, not up.
Your reg and hammer spring will be set at factory to be sub 12 at their max settings.

Thanks for the info. Just can't figure out the (relatively) low power.

People get obsessed with power when in reality you may well find a certain pellet will be more accurate at a lower power setting, if you're new to air rifle tuning you may well be better off trying to find your most accurate pellet at the available power before you start messing. ;)

If I bought a new pcp rifle and it was only making 9-10fpe I would send it back

That was where my hft5 and a few others shot their best, well for 25 and 50yd BR as Id not shoot much past that, I suppose if your shooting 75-100yds the extra bit might help

I’ve found most pcps and pellets work well at 10ftlb, there's often a lot to be gained by having less 😉

You might reasonably hope for 11.95? Or 11.5? or 10.5? (fairly common) No justification to send it back whatsoever unless a minimum power level had been promised under certain conditions such as pellet weight. Sub 12 means just that. You would be dependent on goodwill.

Being a Reximex, it is a common issue where the importer will cut the hammer spring too short when doing the sub 12 conversion from when they come in from turkey. If you’re unsure of the workings of the gun, I’d highly advise you to return the gun to whom you purchased it from and have them take the necessary steps into getting it sorted for you. It will protect your warranty/money and save you far more inconveniences.
